I am very new to photography and i am just wondering should i buy a tripod now are later after i am use to the camera?

Your first inclination will be to grab an "El Cheapo" from Best Buy or Wal Mart. Though they will be better then nothing you will quickly find yourself wanting better. Stick around and see what others use in the next ensuing months. A dependable solid setup will go around $100-$150 for a set of legs and $100 up for a good head. I currently have an aluminum Manfrotto 190 MORE with a Manfrotto horizontal pistol grip ball head. As my needs change so will my equipment.

That was a great find in CL and yes I shop it daily. Not too much up Maine way for used studio equipment. I just got a YN565ex about 3 weeks ago and "snow white" was the first one I've used it on... and yes she is super white (anemic) but totally beautiful and very photogenic.

Consider gels

Can anyone provide some tips and feedback about night photography at Upper Antelope Canyon, Arizona? I'm finding a lot of info about general daytime photography tips - but not finding much on night photography - or anyone who's done it that can add their thoughts. I only have 1 shot at this and I don't want to mess it up too badly :)

We're going on a tour with 4 people Sep 25, 2014 during the new moon. So it'll be dark and uncrowded.

I am not planning to switch lenses due to dust. I'll be shooting the sky out the rock openings and such...

I only have 1 camera (Canon Rebel T3) and 3 lenses
• 18-55mm Kit Lens
• 75-300mm zoom
• 58Mm 0.45X Wide Angle Lens

Manual or Aperture Priority?
Which lens?
Manual focus?
Tripod recommendations? (I have one but would be willing to get a better one)
ISO 200-400?
perhaps f/8-f/11? or...?

New here, thanks :)

Can anyone provide some tips and feedback about ni... (show quote)

Neither...Bulb
18-55
Yes
As high as you can go
Your tripod must be solid and steady along with easy to set up and adjust in total darkness. I like the Manfrotto 190 More
Aperture will depend on your composition

I like the fog but you need to crop the dark foreground. Using a polarizer would have made the sky more dramatic

It appears as if you do not have a connection from camera to computer. For most of us this is via a USB cable. The 6D has a WiFi capability so this is where I would be looking real hard. Either your camera or your computer is not communicating. I suggest you go into your networks section to see if it shows your camera. If not see if any other WiFi devices are missing. This will show you which side to check first. If you are trying to remote control your camera without result then you should dig out your manual and get acquainted with your camera's menus

Bats, welcome to the Hog.
I would recomend a used(not new or refurb) Canon 7d.
The 7 is a dedicated sports camera and can be found used for less than $700. Use the rest to get a 70-200 f4 w/o IS at about $650.
With the rest get the 50mm 1.8 @ $100. That will get you by sports and general-wise till you can get a longer lens.
Again, welcome to you and your partner. Good luck. ;-)

I love my 7D but the OP seems to be calling for a SX50. Lightweight, easy to use and learn. Don't count on much return on the film gear. I doubt if you can get $100 for the whole lot. The third party lenses won't draw any interest.
