When my EOS UTILTY stopped working a week ago, I uninstalled it and reintalled it believing it was corrupted. But still the problem is there. I called canon tech support to help me reinstall it. The same thing happened. Have any of here in UHH expirience this tech problem? Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried a later version? As far I know all the canon software can be downloaded free.

I went to the Canon site where they have available the latest version of the EOS utility. It is a free download and installed perfectly. The previous version I had was not compatible with the 5D MK III - the current version works fine.

I believed the CANON agent who guided me to reinstall it gave me the latest version.

You haven't told us what the problem is.

How did you remove the old version, did you delete it, or uninstall it?

Possible couple of options that I would try.
I would uninstall again and reinstall the latest version paying particular attention to the steps.
I would make sure that it was actually the latest version I was installing.
I would make sure that if it asked me if I wanted to install previous version found in computer that I said no, install latest version.

Other option.
Unless you have files that you have downloaded and cannot afford to lose I would do a system restore from a date just before it stopped working.

Did you download or install any new programs just before it stopped working?

Whoa, just thought of something.
When you say it is not opening, what do you mean?
Do you mean that it is not using EOS to download your photos and is trying to use a different program?
Or do you mean that even when you click on the EOS icon it is not opening?

Try opening it not from the icon but from the menu tree. Maybe, just maybe, the icon is pointing to the old installation? Delete the shortcut icon and then create an new one.

Right. It shows me a dialog box saying "Pairing over Wi-Fi/LAN on the left and Close on the right. When I click "Pairing. .it gives me another box that doesn't respond. That's the end of it.

I have no idea what "Pairing over Wi-Fi/LAN" means.
I suggest that maybe a wrong option was chosen during the install.
