I also forgot to mention , AFFINITY also has AFFINITY DESGINER and AFFINITY ILLUSTRATOR which integrate and are also as cheap as Chips.

Just think of the AFFINITY DEVELOP Persona in the Program as the " RAW " Editor, then after that the rest of it does make sense. PERSONAS , can be a little confusing for a Newbie.

I forgot to mention , many PHOTOSHOP plug-ins also work and in particular NIK works when I ship them out as TIFF Files.

I personally use TIFF a lot for Final Print output.

I've asked this same question many , many times.

My number 1 recommendation , over all this time is AFFINITY PHOTO. There are half a dozen excellent texts , including workbooks which cover all the features. There is also ma myriad of UTube Videos.

I have settled on it. Previously I used PHOTOSHOP. I refuse to pay a subscription model for software. You are simply held to ransom.

We see all these flash boats down here.

It belongs to a European. German I think. Its a Steel boat. Its was down in Hobart a couple of years ago. Stayed 2 weeks or so.

Fortunately for Us, Tasmania is a much moe spectacular place than US , so we see heaps of these all the time , particularly between September and about April which is our warm time of the year

Don't forget , theres an excellent AFFINITY BOOK which I brought , and I find it fabulous and a great jump in point to AFFINITY, its dirt cheap , about $45 US.

May I suggest you buy the extremely well put together AFFINITY workbook. Its fabulous, and was made available just before xmas.

Bout $50 from memory.

Its done better than anything else I have every seen , and that includes Kelbys manuals. Its about 450 pages , and its workshop styled.

The converter has cooked the red just a tad , but in the real , the red is brilliant , and ever blows out to the naked eye , when the sunlight hits them.

They are a pretty bird , about the size of a pigeon , maybe just a wee bit bigger, they eat seeds , grubs and nectar from wilflowers.

People tried to keep them as caged pets , but most just died , they belong in their natural habitat. Australias famous Tomatoe Sauce " ROSELLA " has them as their logo. For the Americans , its a HOT MEAT PIE at the Footy , smothered in ROSELLA Tomatoe Sauce, its an Institution , particularly on a freezing cold arvo , at the Footy !!!!

I have to say , given connectivity lags , and given HD hibernation , and given all the hardware constraints , if your patient , the SYNOLGY system is Flawless in my experience. It's Mobile Apps are fantastic and seamless !!

ANSWER = SORT OF

The NAS is Fine. It's then about you router speed , your ADSL line speed , as we know it here in Aus , and your hardware at either end.

Now in Aus , all copper is to be replaced with Fibre Optic. Given that speed will be staggeringly high. Do'nt know about USA.

Satellite here is OK , but not blindingly fast.

With the NAS , I cache , Images folders , so , at my Mobile iPad end , I can roll thru images once I make the initial connection.

On balance all of this is sweet by me.

For those outside of USA , here in AUS , the NBN , ( aka Fibre Optic to every Home ) I can hardly wait , under 11 months now.
