....... I'm done with you and your kind of "help".

You shouldn't be done; MTShooter's help is amongst the very best on the forum. He is someone who would most definitely be missed if he didn't contribute!

And before anyone says anything; non of the above is a substitute for not getting it right in camera!

I suggest you check out the link below, this plugin filter has been around for several years.
http://www.xero-graphics.co.uk/content/metagrad.html ZERO GRAPHICS Meta Grad. It comes with an adjustable ND Polarizer effect. Used carefully with selections it can perform miracles. It will not block glass window reflections, like a CPL filter, but corrects a lot of sky problems.

"The benefits of polarizing filters are the same in digital or film photography. While software post-processing can simulate many other types of filter, a photograph does not record the light polarization, so the effects of controlling polarization at the time of exposure cannot be replicated in software."

Phil,

There are PP filter software filters that can produce the effect of Polarizer lens filters, but in this case the lens filter performs much better.

Good luck,

Michael G

Sorry but this is incorrect; a polarising filter is the one filter that cannot be replicated in Post Processing.

Does it make any sense to use a polarizing filter with a camera that doesn't have an antialiasing (low pass) filter ?
Thank you for any advice.

What prompted this question as there doesn't appear to be any logic to it?

My LR 5.3 before upgrading to 5.4 and now 5.5 had the Tamron 10-24 in it.

And how is this relevant to the question asked?

Had they been taken with a D800 they would have been different.

This is the key comment in these postings; it is not realistic to compare a camera without a low pass filter to those that have them as it will obviously be sharper.

As I recall when the D4S came out a lot of comment - including on this site - was basically why upgrade. Then a few people get to use the thing and start to point out the advantages it has, and this is followed by a swing in opinion and a lot of upgrades.

I suspect the D810 will follow the same path.

I think you're right on that
