Thank you CHG,

This is fantastic information that I shall put to use.

Since it has been a long time that I've actually developed photos, would you recommend bringing them to Walgreens, CVS or the likes, or have them developed at my local photo dealer/retailer?

I assume they still provide you with the prints and negatives. Can you ask just for the negatives?

Lastly, which is faster, scanning prints or negatives. What method do you recommend?

Thank you again!!!

Thank you CHG,

I'm sure I'll have more questions once I start the installation process.

Thank you again!

Good morning,

Thank you all for your assistance.

It looks like I'll be going with the Epson V600. Is there anything else I might need, other than the scanner?
Couple more questions, does it automatically import into Lightroom- How easy is it to install and get it going?

Thank you again!!!

Thank you guys,

’ll be post processing 35 mm film/negatives only. I would prefer a system that would automatically render my negatives into a color digital source, without the need of an additional software/program and with a budget of $500.00.....or less, if possible.
Taking the information into account, what are your thoughts and recommendations?

Thank you,

Happy Holidays to all,

In recent weeks, I've gone back to using my SLR, so to not forget the basics.
With that being said, I want to upload them to LR for processing and I was wondering what fellow UHG's would recommend, in terms of a scanner. I may be printing these out to a 20" X 30", or a bit smaller.

As always, I appreciate feedback!

Thank you and Happy New Year!!!!

Hello rWilson,

How are they exported? By catalogues or individual photos?
I want to retrieve these by event or by the date taken.

Can you explain in detail what steps to take?

Thank you,

Good afternoon,

Can you please direct me on how to properly and efficiently export from LR to an external, hard drive? I shoot in RAW and from time to time I blow them up into prints.
Currently, I am dumping them into the external hard drives via Apple's Photos. I am open for your suggestion and ideas, with the notion of retrieving photos in the same way that LR and Photo works.
I export from LR, as catalogues and into Photos, as Events.

Please let me know if there is a better way. I'm sure this topic has come up a few hundred times.

Thank you for your assistance!!!

Hello Bill,

Thank you so much. Can you please post a screen shot?

Thank you again,

Step 1 - Make the adjustments you want for best quality of your RAW file in the Develop module.
Step 2 - Right click the image in the Library module and pick Export.
Step 3 - Fill out the Export form noting where you are putting the file, its name and set JPEG at 100% quality. (I can post a screen shot if you need it.)
Step 4 - Email the new JPEG photo file with your email system.

(Note that the steps do not include the Lightroom built in system for emailing photos.)

Hello cspear,

It is absolutely worth the trip. We just got back this past weekend and we had a great time.
We took the Cooperstown Airboat, 22700 Southwest 8th St, Miami, FL 33194. However I do suggest that you take the private tour, $100.00 each. The other boats are pretty loaded with riders, and from the looks of it, pretty tight.

Do not forget to bring your GoPro, DSLR camera. The will allow you to bring a beer, purchased at the restaurant and other soft drinks, and food if you wish.

Highly recommend them.

I hope this helps.

Thank you,

Good morning fellow UHH's,

One quick question: I want to email a photo from LR to be used as a screen saver/background. I attempted this, however the resolution, or quality was not good. Obviously it needs to be of the highest quality possible.

Can you guys please guide me in the right direction. FYI, I shoot in RAW, if that means anything.

I would really appreciate step by step instructions.

The choices in LR a as follows:

JPEG
PSD
TIFF
DNG
Original

Thank you as always!!!

Thanks jcboy, I'll check those items listed and see where we go from there.

Thanks again,

Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer $329

iOptron Sky Tracker $299

Vixen Polarie $369

With a wide angle lens, you can shoot star trails, milky way, etc. These trackers will all do a good job.

With a telephoto lens, you can shoot deeper, but the lenses are heavy so you will want to counterbalance, in which case I recommend the Sky Watcher. I don't know of a counterbalance kit for the iOptron; and it's motor is not as strong. I have the Vixen with a custom counterbalance, but that's not readily available (and very expensive).[/quote]
