I understand the history and derivation. Back in the day most cameras were sold with a 50mm lens. More often than not you had one lying around. These days it is an investment in that focal length, just like any other.
No other focal length is afflicted with such a nickname.
Why must some seemingly always attach the nifty when speaking of a 50?

Well...that's a good question.!, At the end of the day, It is what it is.
I learned to shoot in manual back in the 50's but I think my R6 is better than me these days

The usual method in LR is to set the ratio usually 16:9. Crop image....Then File, Export, first set dpi to 72
Set long edge to1920 it will set short to 1080 look for file size and adjust accordingly....done from hospital bed and memory!!!

Were you also warned about the drop bears?-I find this type of humour fun but silly.the locals will/should let you know about the local insects and snakes to watch out for...I think doing the big lap across the top.... the crocs were the one thing I had in mind...don't let the locals reassure you "no crocs here mate"

This "T"was found in outback Queensland recently and the "B"model seen last weekend reminded me of a 31 "A" sedan And "B" Tourer I owned in the late 50's, paid $40 for the tourer.. today it would cost $60 grand.
Taken a few years back, Not Photoshoped. Single flash, RHS, Glass Ball is resting on large weave speaker fabric with incense stick burning underneath
....smoke flowed through fabric and around ball .and finally a sprinkle of yellow powder.

I have no need to travel overseas to photograph Desert,Mountains,Snowfields and Surf.
We have driven around Australia and Tasmania and keep going back. Have a great Christmas.

They are raucous, destructive, In plague proportion in suburbs, But,.....A great subject and test for for your BIF techniques.
With the ability to combine images in camera, ( i.e. canon 6D ), a bit of planning is needed...
One method,to get started is to take a silhouette image of subject or person then choose the fill image to suit.

It is a good technique to have in tool box. The process must be compared to post processing which is more controlled.
Search for Triggertrap, Now out of production but you may still find one, connect to camera and it will take
images triggered by cutting a laser beam, infra red,by sound activation, light or setup for timelapse.
