My preferred method is:

Memory cards are very inexpensive. Stick to 32 MB or less - retire them at about 2/3 full. After downloading to computer, I copy to a backup drives for photos. I do not "reformat" and reuse. I use small envelops and mark what files the card contains and keep them in a safe place. If you have several camera's (and or cards) carefully mark the cards with camera data and date and file. Buy new cards from Walmart, Target, Sam's, Costco Staples etc. High speed cards @32MB are sometimes on sale for less than $10.00. So far going back to the earliest 2 or 3 Mb cameras I have not lost a photo in either raw and jpeg.

Some times you can get a free recovery program on line. Kim Commando used to have a no cost recovery program - haven't checked lately.

For what it's worth LD inks is my choice. If a cartridge fails for whatever reason, they are quick to respond with a new cartridge. Many printers use cartridges with built in ink heads. Some come with easily replaceable print heads. Appears many "hoggers" are happy.

The sensor size is 1 & 1/8th inch. I am endeavoring to find out how to access shutter count on this camera. I'll post it ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

Can you elaborate on the sensor size? 1 & 1/8th inch means little unless we can compare it with full frame, APC size, 2/3's size etc. Thank you.

I am responding on my own behalf - not on behalf of the seller. The camera is a fixed lens device. There is a Minolta clone of this camera and some pundits believe the Leica brand is a tad sharper. The lens is sharp and could be a viable walk around camera or a camera you carry with you on a daily basis. The little "red" dot is hot.

I'm looking at a used Canon EOS rebel T6S software w/a shutter count of 7K. Although that kind of sounds like a lot, I wanted the input of the group. Thanks all.

IMO 7K is a very low shutter count. 77K could be defined a a lot, but may well be functional. I think 100K is a high shutter count for a Canon Rebel camera, but not for a Professional level camera. I think this camera will provide excellent service for years of amateur use.

You may want to validate your price by checking prices on EBAY and Amazon.

Several times I mentioned how great Capture One Pro is in other posts. I just didn't want to sound like a sales person, which I'm not BTW.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the response.

From 2007 to 2014 I had Picasa loaded on my desktop. About a year later, 2008, I uninstalled it and deleted anything else I saw that remained.

Earlier this month I did a refresh of my cellphone and photos that I took from my cellphone showed up. Funny thing is that I never loaded Picasa to my phone and only tried Picasa about a month before switching to a better program.

How do I delete the Picasa group of photos?

There are about 800 of them. Even though I looked all around and searched here, I couldn't find anything.

Any suggestions?

Can you inform me what the "better program" you moved to when you abandoned Picasa? Thanks.

I am going on a trip to Europe and planning to bring only 1 compact camera (is that possible?). I am looking for a kind of high performance camera that I can shoot in RAW, good zoom , able to do manual focus, full frame (?).Is there such thing?
.

Perhaps you could check into an iPhone or Samsung smart phone. Some now do "raw" and can accomplish significant quality results. Check the back cover of some Photography magazines for iPhone images!

I've been trying to discover the settings to capture interior shots, with balanced exposures of the scenes through the living room windows.

I have had a fair degree of success by using bounce flash on the interior shots where you want to see outside the window. If you do not have a auxiliary flash for your Sony, you can bounce the built-in flash by using a finger to move the flash upward to the angle you want. It works!

Canon Pixma Pro-100. Will do up to 13 x 19 with unbelievable output. You'll have to calibrate your monitor to get the best results, but it is an awesome machine.

Check B & H. I think there is a "big" deal going on through June. Get a $200.00 AMEX card rebate + extra paper with no additional purchase.
