Your photo stirs up so much emotion. There is no way to adequately say thanks to our heros in the military, but that hug is a good start. Pictures of families welcoming their loved ones home always brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Wow!! These are so beautiful. I love those colors! :)
The original is nice, but I still like you did with the sepia. :)
All of these images are good. My favorite is the Bristlcone Pine. I really like the dead stump in the foreground. My eyes goes to that first and then throughtout the rest of the image. It is nicely balanced, the lighter peripheral part of the picture helps to keep the center of attention on the tree and hillside.
Leave them in. They do add depth. Thanks! :)
Another method for getting low to the ground that I've heard of is using a small bag of beans or rice. Since it's hard for me to get very low, I haven't tried that one. :)
Getting sharply focused pictures is what I have trouble with. I always use my tripod when I shoot so that shouldn't be the problem. Shooting in live view is something I will try since I haven't used it on macro. Thanks for the tip.
Beautiful dragonfly! I have a Canon 100 macro. So far I haven't been very happy with my shots. As you say, it does take practice. With Fall arriving, I will have lots of time indoors to practice. :)
I use mirror lock-up for most of my shooting as well as a tripod with the IS turned off. In tests shots I can definitely see an improvement where the lock-up is used and the IS is off.
Thanks for all the nice comments. :o)
Thanks for all the comments. I also like the log in but just wanted some opinions. Thanks.
Take care,

I usually prefer the silky look of the water so rarely will my pictures have the water stopped. By the way, these photos have a horse in them...Whitehorse Falls. :o)
I made a mistake when I typed in my website address. It has been corrected.
To leave or not...I would like your opinion of these two images of Whitehorse Falls. I'm sure it's a matter of personnal preference, but should I leave the logs in the foreground in or our? I appreciate your time.
