My son is in the navy stationed in Japan, and every 4th of july our church has flags in the front yard for its members in the military and a special service for them. I put my son's flag on his bed and decided I really liked the light and what it meant to me.

I really like it, but I can't comment on the photography part because I am new to all of this. Tell your son for me, that I appreciate his service!

What a poignant photo, Sunny.

Sobering, yet has a calm energy about it.
It speaks to me *smiles softly*

Sending you some hugs to get you through the waiting... and some appreciation for the sacrifices your son (and ALL of those in the nation's service)has made.

Many times, in an earnest effort to support out troops, we forget the sacrifices made by those loved ones left behind to wait.

Your photo speaks to that.

I am a proud navy wife and here is a recent photo I took ... its never fun to wait for him to come home. I know the feeling all to well. This is why any spare moment my husband has, me and our two daughters will be there to see him. Work hours are long and when he is on deployment for months at a time ... it's sometimes unbearable. Hope for a safe return for all of our heros!

on another post they are discussing what makes a great photograph, and i sugested a photo that had emotional impact. Tour photo would be a textbook example of emotional impact. it is profoundly moving and lets the viewer make up a story to go with that photo. If I had a real award to give you I would because that is an excellant photograph and touches the heart. 8-) post more of your work you are clearly blessed with talent
