If Camera shake is the problem and you do not have a tripod with you, be sure to trigger the shot thru the view finder, not the lcd. Go ahead and use the LCD to compose and set up but trigger the shot thru the VF. that way, your entire body acts as a tripod and your forehead is a stable platform.

C’mon! It’s not what you see or what the camera sees.
IT’s how you respond to what you see and how you able to share that response, that experience.

Does the FZ2500 have the ability to change the display? Most digital cameras that have the rear dial wheel have a position on the wheel to change the display. For example one position displays every setting you have the camera set to, another displays minimal shooting information, and another may show nothing but the image you're looking at, and then there may be a selection to blank the rear display screen. I don't know if the FZ2500 has this ability, or if it does, if the zoom setting will show along with all your other shooting settings.

I have six display screens. None of them includes the. zoom position.
The. ONLY time the zoom position is displayed in the LCD screen is immediately after you set the zoom and that is only momentary.

Thanks for the response.
Your moniker intrigued me. I served in the USAF for 20 years, retired in 1967 with a 100%

display the zoom setting where? In the meta data, somewhere else? The viewfinder? I do not think one needs the setting in it, it pretty much shows you that by the viewing angle displayed.

In order to set the shutter speed.
I’m 90 years old. SoI’ve doubled my targeted minimum shutter speed setting to be TWICE the reciprocal of the focal length. e.g. If I’m at 200mm zoom, I’d like my minimum shutter speed to be 1/400. It’s the first setting I make when I shoot in manual/Auto ISO.
My do-all camera has become the Lumix FZ2500 bridge camera and so far the only way I’ve found to display the digital value of the zoom setting in the LCD screen is when I change the zoom. But I want to be able to check it without changing it because that will determine my minimum shutter speed..
(My auto ISO is set to go no higher than 3200.)

Anyone know how to display the current zoom setting without changing it?
best I can do is to nudge the lens ring as carefully as possible. That’s probably close enough as the only reason I want to know the setting is to set the minimum shutter speed. .???

Thanks, linda! Note, however, that it does mention the significance of the yellow histogram changing to white.
Responding to your reference to the advanced manual, I checked the basic manual and found that the histogram turns white when you have a useable exposure.
(Real engineers don’t read the manuals! 😉).
Age 90; still learning.

I don’t know of any automatic way of doing this. As a temporary but time-consuming fix, take image into Photoshop, then enlarge the Canvas size and check the ‘up’ button. This will leave a white space where you can use the Text tool to put in the words without compromising the image. The type will be on a layer so flatten before saving.

Wouldn’t this distort the image, Squashing it to provide. a text band within the original image size? e.g. if I shot the image at 3:2 and I add one inch text band to the canvas, then print it at 4x6, doesn’t that squash the original image?

Such A bold assertion surely demands a supporting argument! I haven’t encountered a single comment to support your assertion.
I upgraded from the FZ1000 to the FZ2500 and have congratulated myself every time I pick up the camera.
Granted, If - and only ‘if’ - money is the dominant consideration, I’d have a hard choice between a used FZ1000 and the FZ2500. But your unqualified statement simply won’t wash.

I purchased a used iPhone at a server store.
Can’t find an App for it or 3rd party app.
I did find and purchased Emil’s course.
Any suggestions for an App?
