Is it a good idea, or a bad idea to use one focus point on a family photo?

Nope dont mind at all, I LOVE what you did. I dont know if there is a difference between Photoshop, and Corel Paintshop. But when I use the object remover On Paintshop, It doesnt look as great as yours. So I usually try cloning and that takes forever... But love what you've done, it looks great!!!

Page 96 of your manual shows how to select where the single point focus looks. http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/kie88335f7869dfuejdl=-cww2/D7000_EN.pdf
Unlock the selector by moving the 'focus selector lock' away from 'L'. Then you can use the round 'multi-selector' [same button you use to move through the picture previews] to move the focus point. Hit OK to lock it in, and move the 'focus selector lock' back to 'L' so you don't accidentally change it.

I figured it out the 'multi-selector' is what I was catching while I was reading. Thank you so much for helping me out. Your a true angel.

You didn't unlock the multi-selector before trying to change the focus point.

Thank you all who has offered some great advice to me. I do have a Nikon D7000, And I have read the manual. But when I do switch it over to one point focus, the little square box "focus box" stays over to the far left of the screen. Is it suppose to do that? Because I thought it would be in the middle.

How do I get the focus square inside the camera to focus on what I want it to? Sometimes I swear the thing has a mind of its own and focuses on what it wants, sometimes I can get it to go where I want and other times no it does what it wants.
