I recently returned from a trip with several hundred photos taken via 4 different sources. One source was my D750 wherein I used 2 SD cards (I consider this to be 2 sources), another source was a Sony RX100 II, and the other source was a android cell phone. The shots taken with the camera's were all in RAW. I want to arrange the keeper shots from these 4 sources in chronological order and put on a thumb drive for future viewing. I use LR6.14. I also have the following plugins: Luminar Neo, Topaz Photo AI, and ON1 Effects 2023. Would someone please enlighten me as to how to go about doing this? Thank you.

Actually filling the frame is kind of weird, as few folks are able to shoot straight in the first place... Just the action of straightening a capture will force a crop. You also have to take into account that some capture maybe framed with a mat, another case when there must be a 'free space' around the subject.

Add the idea of motion, space and 'fill-the-frame' mantra is just out of the window,

The idea with 'filling the frame is not to be to the edge but making sure that the subject is complete within the frame and that there is no need to crop in order to be 'closer'.

I fill the frame ONLY when I am sure of what I am doing while shooting, usually a static subject and that the capture will not be framed. Since I produce only aluminum print, large format cropping for a frame does not happen.

The pictures are in various file folders i.e. 2008-12-25 Christmas, 1984-05-15 Vacation in Door County, etc.

My idea is to copy selected pictures from each folder into a "sort" folder that allows me arrange the pictures to better tell the story. I have quite a number of folders to view and select the most "important" pictures. When the selection process is finished, then I can rename the pictures' file names.

Also if the sort folder allows post processing of a picture by another program i.e. RAW to JPG saving in the sorted place that would be a plus.

And maybe one you've had on your list, too. Given the active itinerary and travel arrangements, I decided to go smartphone-only. I have an Apple iPhone 14 Pro and sometimes enhance it with a XenvoPro wide-angle/macro lens. Posted also in the smartphone subforum.
