I really like the second one. Very nice shots. You can make them available for download so we can see a bigger photo. It doesn't save on the device but provides a big view just in case you did not know. Keep posting

The family and I decided to have a fire last night in our new fire pit and I pulled out the camera. These are my first shots of fire and these are my pick out of about 120 shots. As always c&c are welcome. Also would like to see your fire shots so post them if you have them. Thanks for looking.
Settings-- f/5.6--1/800 sec--1600iso--34mm
I'm not criticizing or anything .. I'm just curious .. why 1600 iso ? I wouldn't have thought to put it that high.
I have shot over 120 pics of the fire while tring different settings and for some reason I kept going back to the 1600. I think it just looked better to me but of course i was veiwing the pics in the lcd which really does not give a good veiw. I'm still learning but keep getting better each time I shoot and I owe it mostly to the UH and the people in here. I'm gonna shot more fire shots and keep tring different things any suggestions would be great

I think I might try putting the iso at 100 and using a 1 or 2 second shutter speed and see what it does. I love watching fire dance .. it's mesmerizing.

Thanks Photo Guy, ya the safty gear seems to be an issue in my neck of the woods. The chiefs and sometimes the captins too don't have everything on. I noticed the pump operaters were not fully geared up either. Don't know if it is because they are vol. but it was that way when I was in the department and I have been out for five years now. Guess things don't change that much.
Was out and about on Tuesday when I saw an active fire scene. Had my camera with me so I got some pics. They had the fire knocked down when I got there. First fire scene shots. C&C welcome, shot with Canon Rebel XS with 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens
Well Eric you sparked my interest in IR photography! These are fantastic pics. I started checking out the links you posted. Thanks for sharing.

I really like #2 and #3. Especially how you basically froze the jumping into the water. Nice job
Thank you I was a little nervous about being in the water with my canon lol. I have a few more shots like that one.

I tried Lightroom 3 on a trial basis and now i'm tring Potoshop Elements 10 on a trial basis. I kind of like Lightroom 3 the best out of the two. Any thoughts on this topic and any suggestions on other software out there? I'm going to make a purchase soon so I wanted to see what you all think.
