Does anyone have any other flash company recommendations for alternatives to the Canon 580EXII? I have a Canon T2i and wish a quality flash for group and individual portraits. I use a Canon 85MM 1.8 lens
Thanks for any recommendations
Hi Gary, I have a T2i, as well. I found a very good flash on Amazon. It's a slave, more like the 430ex II, not a master like the 580 ex II. It's the Vivitar-383 Dedicated ETTL LCD Flash with LCD Display. I'm very happy with it.
Here is the link to Amazon for it. Take a glance, perhaps it will meet your needs. Good luck!

That looks a lot better! Thank you. Unfortunately, I do not have Photoshop, I do have GIMP. Does it work the same way?
Yes, Gimp uses the same filter.
Go to Filters-> Enhance -> Unsharp Mask
Adjust the Radius and Amount by moving the slidebars and leave the Threshold at 0 for best results. You can watch your changes in the preview window as you adjust. That's all there is to it! Good luck.
The good thing about using the adapter ring is you can find the FD lenses a lot cheaper!
I'd leave it alone. Excellent contrast between bokeh and sharp-focused subject/foreground. Rule of thirds is in play here and serves the purpose well. A job well done, indeed! Thanks for sharing.
GOD Bless,
Robert

I have been trying to take pictures of the beautiful full moon we have been having and I'm not forsure what I am doing wrong. I am new at this. My camera is new. It is a Sony DSLR- a330-a380. I am trying to take a pictire of it as close as I can get to the moon. Most of the time my pictues are turning out blurry. Can anyone please give any ideas of what I should be doing and what I am doing wrong? Like I said I am new to this and really do what to learn. I do appreciate any help. Thank you.
Here's the back-side of the "moon" ;)
Welcome! Tell us a little about yourself. Your aspirations, influences, camera equipment, etc concerning photography.

Do you all ever shoot on weekends? Sundays are usually best for me. I'd be very interested in partaking in the fun.

Hi Loriann, my name is Robert. I put my Canon T2i in Bulb Mode (kept shutter open for 12 seconds), Tripod, Wireless Remote Control, dropped my exposure bracket -3 stops, ISO @1600, Zoomed in to 300mm (Canon 75-300) f/8, no flash, and cropped final result to fill the frame.
Here are a couple of examples of the Full Moon on 2-16-11. I hope this helps.
GOD Bless,
Robert
I call them "Don Kings" ;)
I agree with KathyinNH. I'm here in San Antonio, maybe I'll go click today at the River Walk and come across a beautiful model who feels like posing! :) Thanks for sharing.
JDTX, I think all I would do is use a reflector to lighten up the face and enhance the dress. She is a beautiful model.
Solar flare. Just as Bruce668 stated, could also come from reflection between the filters on the lens.
