I have an old Canon AE1 and would like to buy a new slr digital camera. Can I use my zoom lens on the new camera? Or for that matter any canon lens I have now.

The old Canon lens are FD and not compatable with the new DSLR's which use EF or EF-S lenses.

CANON CAMERA A-E 1 ARE COMPATABLE WITH AN ADAPTER RING AVAILBLE ON THE INTERNET . BE SURE IF YOU ORDER ONE THAT IT HAS THE LENS AS IT WILL NOT WORK ON INFINITY TYPE SHOTS . FURTHER IT WILL ADAPT TO INDIVIDULE LENS NOT THE BODY ONLY SO YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE ONE FOR EACH LENS . NEXT YOU WILL LOOSE ALL AUTOMATED DEVICES . SIMPLY PUT EVERYTHING WILL BE MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS . I KNOW THIS AS I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AS I HAVE MANY CANON LENSES AND A HALF A DOZEN A-I AND AE- 1 BODIES , ALL OF WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOLD YEARS AGO .

The good thing about using the adapter ring is you can find the FD lenses a lot cheaper!
