Watch this youtube video, this is my setup and I used a key chain laser I had. By the way, it works great just getting it aligned can be a problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dliz0HcCXmo

Link to what happened to Gigapan in 2014:

I have the Pro model and still use it, just did a nice 360 pano of an old auditorium a few months ago as documentation prior to a extensive remodeling.

Live in Naperville. Calumet photo in Oakbrook is unfortunately closed. Believe it or not the best buy at Fox Valley Mall has some really informed sales people. That said they only carry Nikon, Cannon, and Sony, and seem to have a real slant toward Sony.

Calumet Photo in Oakbrook is open, I was there on Friday, they reopened almost a year ago. Great staff but closed on Saturdays. PJ's in Glen Ellyn also has a good staff but a limited selection, very small store, showroom room is the size of a three car garage. I haven't been to Procam but have heard good things.

I have used it for 8 years now and am an Architect, I use it exclusively for all my projects. Now that I am a semi retired partner from a 25 person Architectural firm, the projects are on the small side but produce full construction documents with their PRO package, third party add-ons and a number of plug-ins. I also use it for many other things. If a need a 3D drawing I immediately start drawing it in SketchUp. Google bought the company years ago and has sold it to Timble a few years ago. They have a free version, now called "Make" I believe. If you haven't used a cadd program like AutoCad before you should be able get acquainted quickly. Those who have used other cadd programs find it difficult to the way they do things, because you are drawing in 3D and not 2D from the start. The training session should offer the basics. There are many youtube tutorials and the instructional videos are very good. Check out their web site. Download it and give it a try. I HIGHLY recommend it! They also have a "Camera" add on that lets you set up a scene and lets review before you shot.

Sounds like you have some great flying experience, you should love the quad. Started doing FPV about four months ago, monitor only, and really like it. I mainly do architectural still photography and the aerials really add that something special. Weather in Chicago has really taken a toll on my flying time though. I upgraded to a Futaba T8J (my minimum recommendation) and there are plenty of YouTube videos to complete the setups. Definitely add the tilt control for the gimbal. I have the knob set to tilt and two switches set for special angles so I can just hit the switch for 90 degrees and 30 degrees.

Shutterbug65,
I would watch out for Hobby King from China, a lot of people have had problems with deliveries, I for one have not but I would try to order from their USA warehouse or also try Tower Hobbies.
