Can we get a new party please? One that gives us what we want and need:

Americans want a fiscally conservative government - but neither party is willing to move us towards a balanced budget. Americans for the most part KNOW we need to do that!

Americans for the most part do not want as socially conservative society as the GOP wants to force upon us.

Americans for the most part WANT environmental conservatism - clean air and clean water.

Americans for the most part WANT responsible corporate participation in our society - that means for example reasonable banking regulations and less corporate money in control of our elected officials and our elections.

Americans for the most part WANT safety nets for the poor but want stronger efforts to prevent these programs from being abused.

Americans WANT jobs! Free Trade arrangements need to be reassessed and efforts need to be made to return manufacturing jobs to the US. (Reducing corporate power in congress will help this a great deal).

  Absolutely SB. Nothing would get the left or right's attention quicker than an independent candidate getting more support at election time. Only downfall is you run the risk of being called a fence sitter. Refreshing compared to the finger pointing and name calling in these forums lately. America is ready. At this point we are being governed by a bunch of fossils who will not bend for fear of breaking. Money plays too big of a roll when it comes to elections. A poor man would make a better politician .

My brain works and I think for myself as an independent voter, the least deluded voters. It quite interesting that many in the GOP agree with me on these points.

Bravo------------Careful though lest we be called fence sitters

Most modern revolvers have safeties indeed. Safety position is achieved by having the hammer in the half cocked position. While in this position, no matter how hard you pull the trigger the hammer will not move. It also spaces the hammer away from the firing pin so if the weapon is dropped the hammer cannot accidently strike the pin.

Folks, you need to remember two things about wrestling with a pig in the mud. Number one, everyone is going to get dirty, and two, the pig really enjoys it. Hard to get on board with someone with so many cartoon characters in his arsenal.
About as appealing as Polosi and Reed. It's time for a three party system.
Gitzo refers to us Independents as fence sitters.

Just another Independent fence sitter

If any one is interested, here is a site I frequent from time to time just to keep up on the latest. The newest of telescopes give us the opportunity to look back in time so to speak. Just how far still remains to be part of the theory but it looks to be significantly more than 5000 years. Hope you enjoy the link.

I could not care less if you badmouth any of our politicians. What don't you understand about that? It is you hijacking someone elses thread that I feel is wrong.

I don't give a rats ass about your discontent for the president Hal. That is your right. What bothers me is the disrespect you display for fellow UHH members when you ambushed others topics with your comments of discontent. We disregard topics we don't want to get involved in. This is why topics have titles. That is OUR right. Your original comment was clearly meant to stir up emotions in your democratic counterparts and should be in a thread of it's own. And by the way ,I am an independent voter so don't refer to me as "them" or "they" like I am the enemy of some imaginary war going on in your mind. I guess this is what UHH has become and the only way to avoid these topics is to avoid the site altogether.

Hal--Who is "THEY" you are referring to? Are we Independents now included in your bashing of anyone who isn't a Republican ? Or were you referring to the blonde scanning her computer for viruses?

This is chit chat non photography forum

That is right. But these snide political remarks that are 180 degrees off topic, that are lying in ambush for other UHH members who thought they were entering a discussion about computer viruses and could maybe learn something or at least be entertained by a joke, are only disappointed by childish bullies that somehow are entertained by attacking anybody at random. This type of bulls#!t is not good for their political party or UHH. The sad part is you would defend such behavior by describing it as fair game for general chit-chat. Come on what are you Twelve.

Can you say "Independent"-------- boys and girls?
Let the Liebermans come forward. They will. They just need to know they will be supported instead of railroaded. Build it and they will come.

I agree, the Stylus 1 is a fine camera and on my wish list. But correct me if I'm wrong. The zoom on the Stylus is 1 10.7x, less than half that of the FZ200 at 24x? The Stylus also has a bigger sensor and should yield a better IQ in lower light. Wouldn't the Panasonic LF 1 with the same size sensor and 7x zoom be a closer comparison to the Stylus than the FZ 200?
