A few months ago, preparing for the coming cold weather, I bought one of those camouflage printed hunting jackets, on special, from Home Depot.
I figured this would allow me to sneak up on my next deer without being seen and I could attend my Grandson’s football games without being detected by those pesky ticket takers. I thought it might also be useful to wear at family bar-be-ques; allowing me to blend into the background without being noticed.

Problem is…..now I can’t find it!

Not in Wisconsin. You must wear bright orange on half of your body and head for safety reasons so other hunters don't mistake you for a deer. It's the law.

Are you shooting in raw? If you are the camera stops to catch up writing to the memory card because the raw files are four times bigger than jpeg files. After it catches up you can start over again.

I use the transfer cord plugged into the camera to the usb port to download photos and never remove the memory card from the camera. That would eliminate a bent pin problem.

I also have a 7100. I noticed that by handling the camera- moving it around I accidentaly moved the dials by bumping them with my fingers which changed my settings. I now check the settings often while shooting.

TheNikon cameras have a feature called Active D Lighting which increases dynamic range. There are 5 different levels of adjustment. This has to be set in tour menu.

You can edit jpeg files in the raw editor and get the same results.

Does converting a raw file to jpeg in Photoshop cause a loss of data making shooting in raw useless?

You can use your tripod as a monopod in this way. Extend the top shaft all the way up. Keep the legs folded in and extend only one leg down all the way. You now have a monopod.

Watch out for squirrels. They can wipe out a feeder in one day. Get a squirrel proof feeder.

Try using a Light Tent. They create a soft even light. You could Google them for different brands and sizes.

Try Gatorland near Orlando. They have a nesting area with lots of different birds and you can get very close to them.

It's called shutter lag but it's really focus lag. All cameras take a split second to focus-some longer than others. Once focus is achieved the shutter activates immediatley.
