How do I make one flower in a bunch in focus and the rest out of focus?

I'll try a couple of things. I think it would have to be something added to date/time or filename. Keywords don't show up under thumbnails.

I can too, but just want to add a code letter or number to indicate something to me without opening each photo.
Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer. The thumbnail view when opening Organizer.
It shows with each thumbnail file info, date & time, star rating. I would like to tag it somehow so I can quickly see the tag without opening each pic.
Is there a way to add a note to myself on thumbnail view (just a character or word)?

The fonts in Organizer (captions, details, file info) are so small I can barely see them. How do I increase font size in PSE 12. Not on photos, but in user interface in Organizer?

PH, I know this is an old post and you have been very helpful. I still have the basic question which is, How do I get the correct date taken if the date taken in exif data on an image is INCORRECT? I have tried various software that say they can find the date taken, no matter what. But they finally had to admit that they COULDN'T DO THAT!!!!!??????? Is there a way to retrieve the REAL date taken if unknown?

when I press shutter, the shutter locks up. I turned off mirror-lockup and no problem.
I did a search, but didn't find a specific answer to my problem. I have Canon 6D and I do a lot of macrophotography (flowers). I have always used mirror lockup, but all of a sudden the mirror locks up no matter what the settings. I have to turn the camera off and back on to release the mirror. I shoot in AV mode. Is this likely something that I will have to send the camera back to Canon??
I have been trying to figure out a way to code thumbnails so I know by looking at a thumbnail if it has been finished, so I don't have to open each one to find out. Any ideas? I use PSE12 and Windows 10.
