Okay I'm not that familiar with US law. But is it not equaly legal for a black police officer to shoot a white civilian?
Our polce don't carry guns so you may have to explain what you think as feckin obvious.

It is equally legal.

The difference, and this is something many don't want to admit, is that there's a segment of our population who are predisposed to r**ting and criminal activity. Many will call that idea r****t, but history strongly supports it.

Remember hearing about all the white people r**ting after OJ Simpson was acquitted?

Yeah, neither does anyone else...

It's a race issue because certain segments of our society believe that it's impossible for a white policeman to lawfully and rightfully k**l a black man.

They say they want "justice", however they're completely unwilling to acknowledge that "justice" could (and did) mean that Wilson was exonerated. They just want a reason to r**t.

I guarantee you this: If Brown had been white and Wilson had been black, the people who are burning Ferguson to the ground would be home watching television...

He's a whining little b***h.

When you join the military, you don't get the privilege of deciding which wars to fight and which wars not to fight. You join the military knowing full well that decisions will be made by the leadership which you do not agree with, and the outcomes of which may not be all you'd hoped. You don't get to decide if the reasons for going to war are good reasons or bad reasons and, if you don't agree with those reasons, you don't get to sit that war out. You go, you fight and, if circumstances dictate, you die.

I can applaud this man's service, but I won't waste any energy weeping for him or respecting him.

And before the brain-trust liberals here try to take me to task, yes, I did spend my time in uniform; 20 years and, yes, I did see combat in those 20 years.

It's a damn shame that this guy saw fit to stain the memory of his gallant and brave service with this...

Yet everyone's giving Brown a pass...

It may not have occurred to you that Mr. Brown did not choose the song. He was asked to sing along and may well have not known which song Mr. Springsteen chose utnil the moment it began, or perhaps he wasn't aware of the song's message.

Sorry, but that's not how it works. For an event like this one, one artist gets invited by another artist several days before the event. What's to be performed is discussed. I worked in the music industry for the better part of 20 years, and that's how it's done. The song choice isn't going to be a surprise.

And I'm not making the argument that Brown should be criticized. I'm making the argument that it's hypocritical not to criticize him if criticism is hurled at Springsteen (there's also not be a word said about Grohl, either). Both Dave Grohl and Zac Brown are smart guys. Only a complete fool would believe that they didn't know what the song was about...

But it is nice of you to have posted this, since it proves conclusively that supposedly diversity-loving liberals are perhaps the most intolerant people on the planet.

Liberal?

Me??

Let's discuss the 2nd Amendment or i*****l i*********n or my v****g record. After those discussions let's see if you still think I'm a liberal...

You all cannot seem to deal with differing opinions in any way except to belittle and denigrate those who disagree with you.

Again, since I'm hardly a lib, I'll simply attribute this statement to your profound level of ignorance and stupidity...

Oh, and did it bother you at all that Eminem began his profane tirade by shouting "Happy Motherf**king Veteran's Day?" And this, to an audience that was filled with women and children. You seem to be so intent on discrediting conservatives that the sense of decency and propriety completely escapes you.

I didn't watch the concert. I was made aware of the Springsteen controversy well after the fact. I didn't even know Eminem was on the bill. But, since you asked, yeah, I think it's grossly inappropriate at best and d********gly disrespectful.

You know, you might appear more intelligent if you stopped assuming you know someone's basis for making a post. I didn't watch the concert, and I never said I did. I asked about one part of it; a part which was being discussed, ad nauseum, on television and online. For you to assume anything is stupid.

I'd be most happy to sit here in my home and do nothing in exchange for a $400,000 payment.

And you call ME a liberal? That's the liberal mantra right there: Do nothing and get paid for it. That's what YOU want to do.

You're obviously a closet liberal, which would explain not only your laziness, but your acute stupidity, as well...

Wow, let a guy step away for a few days...

This thread has dick to do with the ACA, Romneycare, Nancy Pelosi or anything else. It has to do with the conservative hypocrisy on display (and I'm far more conservative than liberal) with their criticism of Springsteen...

I've been off the grid for a little while (still am to a degree), and haven't seen this discussed. Surely it must have been, but I lack the time to find it.

Anyway, conservatives seem to be losing their minds over the fact that Bruce Springsteen decided it would be a good idea to sing CCR's "Fortunate Son" at the Concert For Valor held in Washington DC on Veteran's Day. Many have said it's a slap in the face to the brave men and women in our military.

Now, that may or may not be true, but that's not the important aspect of this post.

The people who are lambasting Springsteen, a well known liberal, for his song choice are remaining absolutely silent on the fact that Zac Brown, a good God-fearin', gun-totin', Mitt Romney-lovin' conservative was on the very same stage, at the very same time, performing the very same song. Springsteen and Brown also shared the stage with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters.

Can any of the staunch conservatives-can-do-no-wrong-and-liberals-can-do-no-right crowd explain the silence of the right with regards to Zac Brown performing that song?

I used to be stationed with Santana's nephew. When I expressed my doubt, he showed me photos of him sitting on his Mom's couch with Uncle Carlos.

I tried like Hell to get a guitar-tech gig, but it never worked out...

I was on a minesweeper during Operation Desert/Shield/Desert Storm.

We were regularly a whole lot further north in the Persian Gulf than we were supposed to be. The Iraqis didn't like it, and they let us know it by sending their "go fasts" (cigarette boats with M-60's or .50 cals) after us...

I spent 20 years in the Navy. Ergo, 7-Eleven is "gourmet" to me. We'd get our coffee out of a square 5lb. olive drab green can that said "COFFEE" on the side, along with a stock number to order more when we ran out.

I drink Yuban. You know why? Because it's coffee. It's not this raspberry-mocha-mint-creme-girlie-boy-foo-foo-bullshit coffee.

It's just coffee.

I used to drink it "regular" which, in New York, is with milk and two sugars. I drink it black now.

True story: November 1980 - I went to the Navy recruiter's office in Smithtown, NY. We're sitting there doing paperwork when the Chief Petty Officer asks me if I'd like a cup of coffee.

"Sure", I reply, and walk over to the big silver boiler pot. I grab a ceramic cup and fill it most of the way. I then look at the Chief and say "Where's the milk and sugar?"

Without missing a beat he responds: "Oh, they're in the Air Force recruiter's office down the hall".

I've taken my coffee black ever since...
