Bruce Springsteen's Song Choice And A Question...

I've been off the grid for a little while (still am to a degree), and haven't seen this discussed. Surely it must have been, but I lack the time to find it.

Anyway, conservatives seem to be losing their minds over the fact that Bruce Springsteen decided it would be a good idea to sing CCR's "Fortunate Son" at the Concert For Valor held in Washington DC on Veteran's Day. Many have said it's a slap in the face to the brave men and women in our military.

Now, that may or may not be true, but that's not the important aspect of this post.

The people who are lambasting Springsteen, a well known liberal, for his song choice are remaining absolutely silent on the fact that Zac Brown, a good God-fearin', gun-totin', Mitt Romney-lovin' conservative was on the very same stage, at the very same time, performing the very same song. Springsteen and Brown also shared the stage with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters.

Can any of the staunch conservatives-can-do-no-wrong-and-liberals-can-do-no-right crowd explain the silence of the right with regards to Zac Brown performing that song?

You are 100% correct. This is just a minor example. BTW
If everyone was conscripted into the military you think we'd have gone to Iraq to find non existing WMDs.(brought to you by Bush and Chaney)

First of all, pal, no one is "losing their minds." Calling BS on an obviously disrespectful act is not losing one's mind. It may not have occurred to you that Mr. Brown did not choose the song. He was asked to sing along and may well have not known which song Mr. Springsteen chose utnil the moment it began, or perhaps he wasn't aware of the song's message. It is also true that many of us have tired to trying to have rational discussions with people who do not listen and cannot understand what is happening to this country. No matter. Things are already changing, and the momentum will only increase, come January and the beginning of the new Congress. But it is nice of you to have posted this, since it proves conclusively that supposedly diversity-loving liberals are perhaps the most intolerant people on the planet. You all cannot seem to deal with differing opinions in any way except to belittle and denigrate those who disagree with you. Oh, and did it bother you at all that Eminem began his profane tirade by shouting "Happy Motherf**king Veteran's Day?" And this, to an audience that was filled with women and children. You seem to be so intent on discrediting conservatives that the sense of decency and propriety completely escapes you. Sorry for this rant, but it's early and I've just heard Barack Obama claim that he has just now learned of Jonathan Gruber's "stupidity of the American v**er" and "the ACA was deliberately written with a lack of t***sparency" and Obama stated that Gruber wasn't on his staff and didn't help write the ACA. But Mr. Gruber was paid nearly $400,000 dollars by the Federal government for that non-existant help with the ACA. Just now, I am considering signing up for such a job. I'd be most happy to sit here in my home and do nothing in exchange for a $400,000 payment.

While Springsteen may be liberal he has also, in the past, been a big supporter of troops. Some credit him with finally turning America Around in the thought process of the way soldiers returning from Vietnam were treated, and helping start the ball rolling on respect for their roll in that war.

Oh yes, it has been gone over how horrible Springsteen was putting down veterans. I think Jake started the thread. I saw it and thought it was good, but then I like Springsteen...as I'm sure the right does too until FOX told them he was a wicked man.

The ACA was the best that could pass congress. The republicans wanted nothing ACA was based on a republican program. What I wanted was a one payer system like medicare. Don't kid yourself all industrialized countries have better healthcare than us.

As a staunch conservative (I like that term) I happen to like Bruce Springsteen for his songs...I don't know what his politics are and I couldn't care less.

New York Steve who lives in Florida is trolling for attention. I like the big fat camera he is posing with.

The Republicans wanted then, and still do, a WORKABLE health care program. The House has passed several healthcare bills, with bi-partisan support. They're all gathering dust in Harry Reid's desk drawer. That will change come January. And other countries have better health-care? Really? Really? REALLY?!? Then explain why thousands of Canadians come south across the border every year to get heath-care in the U.S. I've a relative who lives in Canada who was diagnosed with an eye problem, a repairable one. The Canadian system kept delaying his treatment over and over again, and now his eye sight is beyond repair and continues to steadily worsen.
