I'm about to pickup a new lens and am not sure if I should get the 35mm or 50mm 1.8? I will use this for portrait work mostly, and while right now I'm shooting with a D3100- that will change down the road to a nicer body.
Opinons? Thoughts?
I am worried about the focal length when working with children. I love that "in your face" look, but also want to be able to get "full body" shots when shooting babies and such.
Lets hear it- hurry, I'm about to go by the LPS.
thanks,
Skrach
Great, thank you. I'll check those out
So I broke down and bought a new iMac and CS5 this evening. I haven't used any version of photoshop in more than 10yrs.
Are there any good places for tutorials, or how to's for making the most of CS5? I realize there are other programs that can do certain things "easier", but I don't own them yet an want to get the most out of my recent purchase.
I've searched the board, and found random stuff, but not quite what I'm thinking is out there.
Thanks,
Skrach
So I guess my original question should have been more like this: how much of a difference, on a nicer body like a 7000 or D3, will the 1.4 make over the 1.8? And is THAT difference worth more than double the price???
Hi everyone,
I'm about to buy a prime lens: either the Nikon 50mm 1.4 or 1.8. I'm shooting with a D3100 at this point, but that will likely change in the future when I can afford a nicer body. This will be used for lots of different situations, but largely for portraits and family shots. I'm leaning towards the 1.4, but am not sold on it being worth the extra 200+???
Thoughts? I appreciate it, as always.
Thanks,
Skrach
Just a guess, but since the 5100 and 800/900 are higher level products than the 3100 and 700- I'm betting they will. Try it, if u can of course, and let us know.
Thanks guys. Unfortunately no, we had to leave as it was getting dark, our baby was getting cranky. I will go back though when its a little warmer, we live about 15 minutes away. I remember when it happened all to well and had some close friends at the time who lost family. Because of that, I haven't been able to go in the museum yet, but I want to. Just being at the memorial brings tears to my eyes, which is why this time I tried to focus on the beauty of this place.
I took these tonight at the Oklahoma City National Memorial
Hey everyone,
I spent some time tonight at the OKC Memorial and would like some feedback on these photo's. I'm learning- everything. I also take constructive criticism very well, so please tell me what you think/ see right/ see wrong.
Also, if anyone would like to use any of these, please just ask me first- I would like to know what they are being used for.
thanks,
Skrach77
Can you tell us what equipment you shot these with? And from what position (boat, shore, paddelboard :)?)
Great shots, I would love to be able to shoot this type of wildlife, but of course no oceans here in Oklahoma... :(
