AK Grandpa, I trust that you know how to take good photos in Alaska :) I'll bet I'd also like the wider angle of view option. I haven't found the 18-270 lens with an EF-S mount. Will that matter? My Canon T3i uses EF-S, but I can also use EF, yes?
Due to an already stressed back, I need to "lighten up" what I take on an Alaska cruise trip. I'm considering investing in a Tamron 28-300mm lens so I don't have to be carrying and switching lenses on my Canon 3Ti. Does anyone have an opinion on this lens, or if this would be a good all-around option?
Thanks - those responses pretty much answer my question.
I've had a PNY Professional 8GB 2HR HD video 20MB Class 10 card for my camera for my Canon 3Ti for a few years now. I know I have a backup somewhere. Can I simply get a replacement of 16 or 32 GB card with more MB? Thanks from this "rookie" for your help.
Quilting is another of my pricey passions :) t-shirt quilts can be a real challenge - please tell her it looked great!
Chipping sparrows are MUCH better than LBJs. They're a sign of spring/summer where I live near Chicago.
Gasp!! Beautiful pheasant & quail :)
I'm not really disi - it stands for Designs In Stitches Inc, an embroidery business I ran for 20 years. It was better than (as my husband would say) "We're Stitch & Bitch, I'm Stitch". So I'm good. :)
Even though it all comes out of the same checkbook (or maybe savings acct) he can buy it, I just want a say-so in its purchase.
I have a Canon T3i, which was quite the splurge for me. Folks say I take good shots. I was asked to print up a bunch of photos of anything nature and display them in my church's "lobby gallery". My goodness, when you throw the pics in a frame, they look even better.
I love wildlife and am just not getting in close enough for my satisfaction. The hubs wanted to get me a new lens for Christmas and I said, "Don't you go buying anything without me scoping the stuff out."
Let me just say, I am in awe of the beautiful photos I'm seeing on this forum. I'm quite sure I know that I "need" the Tamron 150-600 :)
Thanks for the inspiration!
Gotta tell you, these are a favorite of ours. Because it's such a soft dough, other than rolling and cutting, we've also scooped and plopped, and we've also just spread the whole mass in a pan and cut with a counter scraper before baking.
I'm a newbie with this camera - sounds like it was pretty popular this Christmas.
Two problems I'm having with the 18-55 lens the camera came packaged with--
1) the camera sometimes takes way too long to focus & the photo ends up not being focused at all. I'm trying to focus on eyes.
2) Sometimes the photo refuses to "take". Am I too close? Too far away?
I'm frustrated. Gotta get one of those good books mentioned in these discussions. I've been wishing I can find a community class, but so far it's not happened.
