Sorry to to inform to you. WMAC is no longer a member. They kicked her off. Another member who was allowed to taker her ID image and used it as his own and was allowed to post his remarks with her image. She was kicked off because she fought his use of her daughters image (which was her ID image). The administrator mentioned to me he didn't believe in conflict. SOOOOO he let this conflict on and on through the training sessions and then allowed the use on her ID image
I am no longer a member but only responded to this response. It used to be a fantastic site until the conflict was allowed. It was no longer a learning site but a site for abuse and conflict.
Sorry to report this to you as I am no longer a user to this site but only responded to your response.

Thanks to Grandpa for stepping up and taking over the role as monitor for this sub-forum.

I'm sorry for the time being I will not be posting tutorials or images, I will be spending more time on another forum. I will continue to check in here as I have made some great friends that I love to keep in contact with, but for growth and photography related issues I will be posting else where.

I have noticed the EVIL people and I realize, if admin allowes it it means they condone it. I'm outa here too. Where are you going???? Please send me a private message! I want to follow. I don't like the dissention here either.

Welcome!!!! This is a good place to learn photography. I too am learning photography. Check out the "Rockin What You Got" lessons. They're fantastic! So far there are 5 lessons and I'm thinking there's more to come.

What I noticed was I didn't want to wait for the images to scroll. I wanted to see more of the wedding party. I'm sharing a link. In this page there were a lot of variety of settings with lots of people having a good time. I'm not a prefessional just am ameture. http://www.bobbiandmike.com/blog/index.php/kristenjohn-2/

BOY OH BOY!!!! Sorry you're having top go through this. Not fun. The bad part is you thought she was a friend! I think that's what hurts the most to me. Taking pictures for someone to get practice is what I do. (my granddaughter) But my son doesn't expect the world from me like she did.
What part of Florida are you going to???? Is that right, Florida? My son is in the service in Jacksonville, for now anyway. In a year it'll be Norfolk VA.

Should I be outside to complete the lesson?
Is there a certain mode to shoot in?

I am having a really hard time on this one. AS usual....
I don't see any difference in any of the pictures.
1st pic I let the camera focus
2nd pic I focused on the secoond vase.
3rd pic I opened up Fstop to 3.6
4th pic Ig the same as #4 at 1/5 for SS
#1 - Set up a stationary item and take a picture letting your camera pick the focal points.
#2 - using the same settings take the same picture but select a single focal point placed over what you think is the most important part of the image.
#3 - same picture again but this time drop your F/stop as wide open as it will go, adjust your settings to allow for correct exposure. make sure to also keep your SS above 200 (so you might have to adjust your ISO as well.
#4 - once again take the same picture up with a smaller aperture (larger f stop number), adjust your settings as before.

Now upload the images and take a look at your sharpness, what do you notice?

Here I go again! I'm screaming again. A lot to digest for me. I guess I have a mental block. BUT I'm trying. My first try, a bust. Blurry. Gotta work on this more.

I am also looking for a portable power source. I don't want to lug around 20 pounds just ie a " jump starter" as I will have the a couple light stands and maybe a fog machine. My camera gear is heavy enough so I don't want to lug around something heavy with my camera gear. I hope to eventually take photos in the field. Course my car ouldn't be close so "portable power" is the key. I also don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it.

You might want to try a couple more shots at, say, 1/10 second, 1/25 second. These also should show blur because the shutter speed can't capture the drops in place. At 1/1000 and 1/4000 second, you've frozen the water in place. The 1/160 is actually a little sharper than I'd have expected, but that's why I'm suggesting a couple of shots at lower speeds.
I couldn't get 1/25. Thanks to all

Thank you bawlmer, is this any better???? not sure. I feel like I'm dense and I need to just give up!!!! I don't see it, I didn't get the last assignment either.
quote=mknmemries54]I am not happy with my camera. I can't seem to get what is needed for the assignment. They all look the same to me. Can someone check it out & let me know what else I need to do????
First, I would increase the water flow to create some visible splash. Also, you might want to bump up the ISO to maybe 800 just to brighten the photos a bit. Make sure your white balance is set for the type of lighting, which I would guess is tungsten. Shoot your first photo at 1/160. Shoot the second photo at 1/1000 or higher if you can, to freeze the splash. Lastly, shoot a third photo at 1 or 2 seconds. See what kind of results you get. :)

OK! here I go again. I did cheat on image 1/4000. It was very dark so I zapped it with Paint Shop Pro.

Hi Jennifer, I looked at your exif data and they are both the same.
It does look like for some reason your camera picked a different white balance for each picture, there is nothing wrong. :)

If you look at #1 the bowl has more of a yellow tint, in picture #2 it's more blue. They are both exposed the same
