My wife has an a77 and I purchased this lens for her last year. She has used it maybe 20 frames worth, but can't deal with weight. She has given permission to sell so I can get something for my Nikon. It retailed for $1249.00 and I will let it go for $900.00. Still have everything it came with.

Hi Kwbybee,

I have some interest in your lens, it should accommodate the A700 - correct? However, I would very much like to see both - pictures of it and pictures from it. Then perhaps we can work something out. Thanks

F/4.5-5.6D, serial # 476781, I bought it refurbished from B&H Photo on 02/02/12. A typical Nikon refurbish, this lens is flawless in both appearance and performance. I am an amateur who enjoys bird photography and this lens has been an excellent performer on my D300. When used on a DX format body, it provides a field of view equivalent to 120-600mm.

I recently acquired (finally) a 70-200 f/2.8 and 2X teleconverter so the 80-400 has been sitting idle for a couple of months. It's time for this gem to be enjoyed by another enthusiast.

Included are the CL-M1 case, lens caps, HB-24 hood, original receipt and user's manual.

Please note that this lens will not autofocus on the D40, D60 and D3000-5000 series.

$1000.00, I'll cover US shipping and insurance.

Dear 7awol,

Am very interested in your lens - but can only go to $900.00 - will you consider it?

Thanks!

Have you guys tried KEH? I just bought a nearly new lens from them in excellent condition but for much less than what I would have paid if I bought it new. They have a great website and they are really good with their pricing and their service.

I've also been looking for a good used Sony 70-400mm G
the problem is on ebay some show up and they want more for a used one than a new one.
Some times they show up at amazon.com and are almost the same price as a new one. Saw one the other day that was just to good to be true ($800.00) so passed it up, has to be something wrong. I bought my 70-300mm G for that.

Yes, it seems to be a hard to find item. It must be a keeper. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Looking for a used, but in very good shape Sony 70-400 mm lens. If anyone can steer me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. If anyone is looking to sell, I'd be interested. I know various stores offer them, but I may as well buy new, if I take that route. Thanks guys and gals.

The A100 has a ccd sensor. Will not consider the trade, the A100 for the A700 grip, but good luck. Thanks for responding.

I have a new one.. I've used it one time... it's not for me. I'd love to trade for a Sony Alpha body if you have one.

Alderburg,
I do have an A-100 in my collection, bought it new a few years ago. My first "good" camera, don't think that I want to part with it. I am interested in your grip for the A-700 though. What's your price? Al

I have a pretty reasonable glass library, but need one or two more to round it out. Right now the one that I want to concentrate on is to shoot both, sports and wildlife. So it has to be fast, and have a longe range. I have a 70-300mm f4.5-5.6, and a 80-200mm f2.8 lens. Ideally I think that I'd like something in the 200-400mm range and fast, maybe f2.8.

I'm a Nikon user and would appreciate some suggestions for a lens as described, if possible. The least expensive solution would be preferred. Thanks all!

Took a few shots today, very sharp. It's been a pleasure doing business with you, Jim.
