WOW, great link and thanks for those details. I never heard of The Abundant Artist, but some really great information. I to get a ton of emails from ASF continuously promoting this discount plus some for a limited time. Almost as bad as selling a timeshare. My believe has always served me well if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! thanks again for the link it was extremely helpful.
Good morning! I was curious to know if anyone is using Art Storefront for their photography business and if so, any details would be greatly appreciated. I get a ton of emails from them and I'm one of those folks who believe if it looks to good to be true, it probably is! Thanks in advance for any insight.
Thanks for the info WSA1111
I wonder if this applies to D750s that were just purchased? I just purchased mine from Adorama two days ago.
Welcome to the Hog...personally when I got my first DSLR I really didn't pay much attention to the histogram. One thing I did do that helped me out immensely was I kept a journal of all my shots and I reviewed them at the end of the shoot. I read several books by Brian Peterson and I was impressed how he could just rattle off what a good exposure should be based on the light and time of day. I now have a collection of 6 pocket journals to refer to. This has helped me out alot. Hope that helps.
I was wondering if most of you add your photography gear to your home-owners insurance or do you use a separate insurance company? Reason I ask is I'm wondering which way to go on insuring my camera gear - thanks.
Oh I'm sorry, I did do bracketing on d7k....3 shots @ 2 stops each end.
Thanks guys for the feedback, it is always helpful to get input from folks who know what they are talking about. I used Photomatix & LR4 for PP. I have to admit, I didn't do much PP in LR because it seemed to change it so much that it didn't look painting like if that makes sense. My setting were follows:
ISO 400
44mm
lens 18-200mm
f/7.1
1/400 sec
Apeture Priority
I think I have found a new love! This HDR stuff is a riot. I have been reading the Complete Guide to High Dynamic Range Digital Photography by Ferrell McCollough and thought I would put some of his techniques to the test. So please tell me how did I do for my first one?

Ain't that the truth, I always buy several things I don't need lol.
You can get a T-bite at Sam's right now for like $100 bucks give or take a couple dollars. I can let you know exact amount tomorrow since I'm probably going down and buying another lol...I need one for backup and one to work on. My laptop is almost too full lol....I don't recommend doing backup on your laptop, it fills up quickly with RAW files. I believe Walmart had them for roughly the same price too. Good luck.
Thank you all for the prompt responses they were very informative.
Thanks for the reply Thegrover, I have tinkered a little the past few days with version 9. From what I gathered from an email I received is that 11 is so much easier to learn with the skill level sets. Do you know if the upgrade will work on version 9 is I purchased it or do I need to buy the full package? I'm going to of course download the 30 day trial version to test it out before I buy.
Yes, the Google acquisition bothers me a bit because I don't want Efex and other Nik software to turn into a product along the lines of freeware or such. That might take away long term enhancements that would otherwise occur because folks are paying for it. Just my two cents on the acquisition.
Good morning everyone! For those of you who are avid Elements users I was wondering if the new version 11 is significantly easier to understand with the new skill level selections. Also, I currently have version 9 would I need to buy the full version or can I buy the upgrade (always thought you needed to have the version prior to is reason I'm asking). I currently use LR4 and never really used Elements 9 just been sitting on my shelf staring at me (a gift). I read on a number of forums that LR4 and Elements compliment each other on edits. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking to purchase a used Nikon 85mm vr macro lens to venture in the world of macro photography. I have rented this lens and it appears to be a great starter lens for macro. Please post or PM me if you are interested in selling one - thanks.
