I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but Adobe Lightroom is another alternative that falls somewhere between the other two. Price is good now on version 4, and there are some good tutorials out there (youtube). It's a photoshop version made specifically for photographers. And, if you're still not sure, Adobe usually gives you a trial period to test drive their products. Have fun with whatever you end up with!
No- This is next to Our Deck Down Under restaurant... under the Dunlawton Bridge. Actually, I just looked it up and it's in Port Orange... I was standing right under the bridge on a small walkway that folks fish from.
Boy, you all are making me blush! Thanks for the kind words!
Okay everyone... I took your comments to heart, straightened the photo, brightened up the water a wee bit and entered it in the Test Photo Contest 2. Let's see how we do!
I do have a question for my new friends- what category would this picture fall under? Landscape?
Thanks, Tad! I love shooting here...the shrimp ain't bad either!
No, this is not HDR- it's a raw (CR2) shot with my 40D: ISO-100; f/4.5; 1/400s; 0 ev. I do not remember what lens I was using. More than likely, my Tamron 18-270 1.3.5-6.3 Di II VC. Processed with Lightroom 4.1 . If you look closely, there's a gator in the cove in the background... not really.
Thanks everyone for the comments. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better through the UH forums!
Hi all- I'm a relative new-comer to UHH and, after much hesitation, am posting my first picture for critique. This is a picture taken around 7:00 p.m. in Daytona Beach just adjacent to "The Deck Down Under", a local seafood eatery. I love these shrimp boats and was lucky enough to catch them with some beautiful clouds as a background. I welcome any comments you send my way! I'm always eager to learn...
Red sky at night... shrimpers in Daytona Beach.
The other two pics... Anything for a fellow sailor!
A little "tinkering" helped some... Photoshop, Topaz de-noise, Dodge and Burn
Re-touched Sailor
Has anyone tried Acdsee Pro? Version 5 is out and it seems to do a pretty good job. It also works well with Photoshop. Check out the trial version... http://www.acdsee.com/en/products/acdsee-pro-5
