I hear you, you want to go light what I did is I got a samsung tab 3 & also picked up a eye-fi mobi card 16GB . Nothing else needed card come with free download to put into your tablet. Load it to tablet place card into camera (SD Card Only ) so your camera must take a SD card. Place in camera FORMAT it to camera and your all set photos from camera to tablet all in a blink of a eye. Enjoy & have a safe trip

Call Nikon 800 service # which is 1-800-645-6689 tell them u have d3s & what is the higesst gig card that camera can use. My 300s says 16gig iin sandisk which is all i use they told me I can go to 32 but in Panasonica card. takes all but 3/4 mins to find out and save that number it's your need to know info nikon number

These photos were shot with the Nikon D300/300s with lens 80-400 & 180mm & 24-120. Iso 1250+. As far as the photos I belive one should not rush when going to a event, couse my mistake of grabing the wrong bag left me with out my prime lens. Oh well I learned the hard way.
