While on P&O Arcadia, cruise USA & America, approaching Newport using the Samsung A40 mobilephone/cell and the Nikon D500.
Samsung A40 mobilephone/cell
Nikon D500 with a Tamron 18-400 lens
Thank You,
Yes, I know, I always wanted a Nikon camera, could not afford one until I retired. Now I have 3. 2 X D500 and a D7200 and when I did buy the D7200 I was using with a lens adapter so I could use my Pentax lenses.
It takes time to build a collection. I have the Sigma 15x600c and TC1401 + TC2001 and the Tamron 18-400 lenses for the Nikon and a mobilephone (UK term) so all bases covered.
Plus the P900 which stopped working which was major fault outside of warranty, & with the P900 (discontinued), Nikon Services said they didn't have the parts and it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to get it repaired. So I will sell for spares or repair, when I get around to it.
at the moment getting what I need to get ready for a cruise in January to South America get back in March, then June another cruise to exploring the Artic, it sounds extravagant these were booked back in 2018, because of Covid if I cancel I would loose money.
I use the Samsung Galaxy A40 it takes a good point and shoot, and it can Take an Amazing photo in Pro mode. I show people who I meet on holidays, how to use the mobilephone (term used in the UK) /cell phone. Pro Settings, that gives way to a "DSLR image". By using the Pro settings, you can use the ISO, WB and Exposure, all controlled by slide movements. So much easier than a DSLR (which I also use) I have attached some images of a Castle at Lake Bled, the same image with different degrees of slider movements.
Also sunrise at NewPort from a recent Cruise to Canada & USA

Hi Guys,
Been on this Group awhile, computer issues kept me away for far longer than intended, as one thing leads to another. A lot has changed over that period.
Biggest Change, broke my up my camera collection. I had been pestering the local and on-line Stores wanting the Sigma 150-600 lens, with no results for years.
I wrote to Sigma Japan and UK, asked the question, when will they be making the 150-600C Lens version for Pentax. I had a reply from Japan Sigma. That Pentax do not sell enough camera bodies worldwide for them to produce this lens.
So I have sold most of my Pentax Cameras 14, and 11 lenses (except 2, ME Super and K50).
Have moved to Nikon D500 and the Sigma 150-600c lens what an amazing combination.
