My favorite is the Imo Strap - http://www.imostrap.com/
I bought one after my pretty "hippy" strap which was a nice tapestry design, almost killed my camera when it broke. I'm very happy with the Imo.

Hi all

As you can tell by my handle, I shoot film still. I scan it and bring it into PS Elements 10, and I run a couple of plugin filters, one to reduce grain, one to process from negative to positive.

To run these filters I have to click on the Filters menu, then go down to the bottom of the list into a folder for each of them and then click on the filter name.

Is there any way to make some sort of Favourites menu or something like that? Or a way to automate it by setting a keyboard shortcut? It's a pain in the rear every time I do it, and if I have a hundred images it sucks horribly.

Any thoughts?

Couldn't you make a photoshop action to do the things you first need to do, then you could fine tune it? An action is just a macro to do a repetitive task. I use Photoshop actions all the time to process.

Why does everyone scream about entitlements and people getting "free stuff" and the poor are so undeserving freeloaders, but then we'll gladly pay for the uninsured to get free health care "on us" the taxpayers? I am so confused.

I would hope that you would also plan to spend several days just exploring and photographing DC itself instead of just spending it at the conference. If you want American history that it definitely it's center.

That said, my ideal trip would be visiting all the civil war battlefields I could!

I thought it was incredibly interesting. I don't agree with all of it, not that I have to agree with everything I read, as I don't have ADD and am able to sit down and read a long article to experience someone else's POV. Too many people base everything they believe in on sound bites.

The quickest and easiest way to watermark and copyright any picture is by using a little software program (free) called TSR Watermark. It's ridiculously easy......and fast!

I've been using TSR Watermark for about 2 years. Free and ridiculously easy to use. I import my favorite fonts into it also. Don't know why more people aren't on to this. I have PSE 10 but don't like jumping through hoops.

If Photoshop seems too complicated, you can download a free watermark program, I use TSR Watermark which can be used to batch watermark. It's easy to use and has a large variety of fonts and you can also add your favorite fonts to it. Attaching one of my vacation photos of Fallingwater with my watermark. I usually make my watermark lighter but this is an example!

When my D90 says CHR, the card is locked. I just move the little slider on the side of it and then it works.

I recently took a photography class at a local community college. One of the things the instructor was adamant about was not changing the lenses on your DSLR. He told us to find a lens (preferably a zoom) and keep it on your camera, that changing lenses was dangerous to the camera. Now, that is the very reason I bought a DSLR so I could change lenses. If I didn't want to do that, I would stay with a P&S. Any thoughts on this? It's not like I'm changing lenses on a beach in a sandstorm!

Actually I have two favorites. I agree with a lot of folks here, I love my 50mm 1.8. Would love to have the 1.4 but on a fixed income here. I take a lot of photos of animals and the 50mm is great for close-ups with nice bokeh. For people, I prefer my 85mm. Nice portrait lens and I don't have to be as close. This is a good example of the 50mm. Just the face is in focus - eyes, nose, whiskers. Everything else is soft.

Example of my 50mm 1.8

I have taken several courses through www.ed2go.com. I took a nature photography course and also Photoshop. The classes run around $100.00 for a 6 week course but you get good comprehensive lessons (2 a week), you can all your questions answered, photos critiqued, and a quiz each lesson. I have found that kind of training a lot more successful than reading a book on your own. If the cost seems too much, I guess it depends on how much money you want to put into your photography hobby. Too me it was worth it because now I have a binder full of lessons and notes to refer back to.

White balance set on auto. These are jpegs. I have PS Elements will try fix. Pics look great on the LCD screen. Didn't know they looked yellow until I opened them on the computer. How do I know if I need to adjust white balance when shooting? Thanks for your reply!!

I bought a new Moose Peterson circular polarizer filter for my Nikon D90 (this one is the warming filter also) which had great reviews, i.e., brings out vivid blues and reds, etc. I used it on weekend at the ocean. Took lots of photos of water and sunsets and birds. Disappointed in the way my photos turned out. Everything has a yellow-ish cast to it. Am I doing something wrong?
