I've read about 20 years ago of oil company 200 miles off the coast of Brazil sinking a well in 20,000 feet of water. Wonder what a barrel of that crude costs? Where's all this low h*****g fruit?

In the '60s I had seen a picture in either Life or Look magazine where there was a picture of the NY city skyline at night. One side of the photo shown either the Chrysler of Empire State building. The other side of the photo had shown a lightning bolt alongside the building striking a building at the bottom of the photo. It was spectacular!
The caption stated the photo was taken with an antique 1910 Box camera.

Chemically, the bicarbonate molecules in baking soda react with cyanoacrylate to create a reactive ion that more easily bonds with other cyanoacrylate molecules. These bonds establish long, polymer chains that are stronger and more resilient than cyanoacrylate-water bonding. The resultant substance is a super glue and baking soda plastic with a cement-like consistency that creates stronger, exceptionally durable bonds.

With toothpicks you'll get good strength but if you rely on the counter sink of the hinge to center the screw you're out of luck. Just like water seeking the path of least resistance the screw will track between the toothpicks till it gets to the hinge. Then it will try and correct for the last 1/16" resulting in a crooked screw unless of course the the gap between toothpicks is dead center. Glue and sawdust mixed together will give better strength (not that strength is a concern) and you can drill a pilot hole dead center.

Instead of toothpicks I use sawdust mixed with aliphatic glue for inside or a polyurethane glue for outside. It's more structural than toothpicks and easier to center the hole.

I bent wire hanger using the above tool with no problem to make a hanger for a hummingbird feeder. I've also bent solid 12 ga. copper wire utilizing a 1 1/2" copper end cap to make an ant trap for a hummingbird feeder. Copper may not be as structural for your needs?
