Michale Cohen may be a jackass, but he does have a way with words. The defendant's new moniker: "Von S**tzInPantz." Trump's lawyer just introduced Cohen's containing tweet into evidence. Feel free to use it. No copyrightz infringement. Bwahahaha!

Please excuse my rant....but I'm really getting fed up with some people (okay...more than some) can't seem to contribute anything helpful. Maybe that's why I like coming to the UHH. For the most part everyone is as helpful as they can and when it warrants or in Chit Chat..funny.

While we were in the moving process and after we moved to Florida I was in some groups about moving to Florida. I put up with the negativity then because I was looking for information. Now that we've moved I'm there to help those looking to move to Florida. Unfortunately, there are a number of nabobs of negativity who have to complain about how bad they have it in Florida, be it traffic, the heat, bugs, or whatever. Then telling people not to move to Florida for whatever reason they have.

I've already left a few of them because of this....but it still frustrates me. Yeah...I know I'm old and this is what the inter webs has become.

Please resume your normal programming.

Perhaps those who are badmouthing Florida are onto something. Just a thought.

Even for those who seldom, if ever, have any creative notions cooking between their ears, they can imagine themselves more creative if their "creative process" involves an excessive amount of process.

Unfortunately, "process" is not the creative half of the term "creative process". IOW more process tips the balance AWAY from creativity.

Theres nothing creative about spooling up film reels, mixing chemicals, loading or unloading cameras, etc. Worse yet is a life tied to the need for darkness, plumbing, and ventilation. Analog photography is a ball and chain, not a liberator of creative minds.

You provided me with a lot of good information, thank you. I’m beginning to suspect I won’t be able to duplicate the film grain film look in digital.

Not so. You can achieve this in post using Silver Efex Pro (part of the Nik collection). It's a superb B&W post processing application. Not only can you fine-tune grain effects but can also, if you wish, apply B&W film emulators (all of the old Kodak, Ilford and other B&W film stocks).

Still get left bias that you always demand others Of not using far left or far right sources you demand that people use neutral sources you hypocrite. Although the new Republic does have high ratings for mostly factual reporting That doesn’t mean this story is factual. Whether this story is factual or not is not the issue, the issue is your hypocrisy telling everybody else to use neutral sources, which you don’t.

There is no such thing as a "neutral source." There are reliable sources and there are unreliable sources, and then there are the fringe sources, which are the ones one should never see cited (though regularly are). The New Republic, while left leaning, is a reliable source, and the news story is factually accurate (as confirmed by another poster). (And why all the name calling? What's happened to rational discourse? Using name calling as a form of argument typically ages out around the ages of 12 or 13.)

You won't get many post from the right on this one, any more than on post reflecting unemployment rates, contributions to the national debt, nor democratic administrations rescuing the economy from the ravages of previous republican ones. The Attic, after all, is for name calling and conspiracy theorizing, and most assuredly not for rational discourse.

That WAS historically true. But, that was now and this is then. Time and tide wait on no one, and many will be washed away. Sink or swim.

Yep, brave new world. Cameras optional. All you need is a computer with a good graphics card.

Neutral density.

I ask because one normally handles glare using a polarizing filter. An ND filter will of course cut the amount of light to the lens but that may not solve your glare issue.

I'm not clear why you're not finding "good options" as you put it. There are abundant options in all filter types. Is it the size you're having difficulty with? Breakthrough produces 72mm filters, as do most (if not all) other filter manufacturers.

Is it neutral density or polarizing filter that you want? Choices for both are abundant and they're easily obtained, either through the manufacturer or shops like B&H. Personally, I stay with Breakthrough filters but there are many other brand favorites you'll hear about on this thread.

Hi
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Matt Granger setup for Nikon Z8. He charges $96 for it. Is it worth the money. His argument is that once you complete his setup, the Z8 will be easier to use and ready for any type of photography….!

Better idea: Learn to set up your camera yourself. It's the only way you'll be comfortable down the road tweaking the settings. Everything you need to know is out there free of charge. All you need to do is find it. And if you can't bring yourself to learn how to set your camera up, you likely have the wrong camera.

It's not odd at all, nor is it meaningless. Insofar as we can learn anything from looking at quality photographs, there is much to be gleaned from seeing how others manage exposure. It's not a big deal. But it is a deal.

There has to be more people out there with an opinion on use of filters for protecting lenses.
At least they show up in droves on threads when someone asks the question.

Yaaawwwn .... That's likely why.
