The photos app on Macs will edit RAW photos. There is a new editing app (for Macs only) called Luminar. I purchased it a few days ago and I love it. It's easy to use, yet has the capability to give Lightroom a run for it's money....so if your an advanced editor, it can also meet your requirements. It is currently on sale for $59.00.

They have a very good price on a camera I want.

I am sure it is gray market but a very very good price.

Anyone have experience doing this.

Will Nikon still service gray market stuff for a fee?

CAUTION!!! Listen to the folks that have dealt with Abe's. My wife got me a $200.00 gift certificate from Abe's, and it was the beginning of the worst on line experience I've ever had. I'll NEVER deal with them again.

I stay away from ones that are made in China..heard that they've been known to start fires.

Maybe I'm misreading this, but it looks like IBM paid a company in Dubai $1.5 billion to buy their chip division. I would have taken it for $1.0 billion even.

Although international, Global Foundries is actually Calf. based. IMB has wanted to get out of the chip industry for years, and has been loosing millions in that division. They couldn't walk away from it because of contracts, patients..etc. Better to loose 1.5 billion now, than billions later.

TB4 is correct. The sunlight is more direct at those times..so the sunbeams inside are more vertical and impressive.

I think you will find that after 10am will be best until mid day. They know the best times. As said by someone else, taking the photo tour will get you in the best places at the best times. The guides will keep moving you to find the light shafts then throw sand in the air to better show them. They also control the crowds to keep them out of your photos. Set your camera to f8 or 11, let it set the speed, and bracket +/- one stop and you will be happy. There were only six in our group but they can be larger...

Consider going around 11:00am to 1:00 pm..the sun is at its highest and the light beams are the most visible at that time.

Not if you set it up as I described.

A shutter of 1/40 will guarantee motion blur - this should help:

The 50 prime will be a great all around lens including indoors where a flash is not allowed. The 18-55 was likely VR enabled making this a great all around lens although a bit challenged indoor with no flash. You're set up for your trip except for the long(er) zoom of distant sites. If you want some reach at a modest price that still covers wide, look for the 18-105 VR DX. Used will run you around $220.

The Tameron 70-200 f2.8 will work with any DX camera (3000, 7100) as well as FX sensors (800, 800E)
On the 7100…it should be awesome.

Try this:
1) Compose the shot..that is, frame the moon in the viewfinder, and zoom in or out until you like what you see.
2) Set the camera to manual.
3) Set your ISO to 100
4) Set your aperture to f/8
5) Set your exposure (shutter speed) to 1/40 (of a second)
6) If your lens has VR..turn it off. The switch is located on the lens itself.
Use a tripod with remote shutter release (to prevent camera shake)
If you don't have a remote shutter release,,use the cameras shutter timer control..don't manually release the shutter.

Good luck
