Me being old school and stuff, I still use Nikon NX2 for transferring from card to computer. I like to analyze my images there, then do the processing in LR. So...normally you can open an image in NX2 and delete it just by clicking the delete button. HOWEVER, I mistakenly told NX2 NOT to delete anything no matter what. Now I can't figure out how to make the delete button active again. Anybody familiar with this 'ol timey program? BTW NX2 works well for minor RAW tweaks and makes quick work for JPEG, which I often find handy.

Has anyone ever taken a circular polarizer apart for cleaning the facing sides of the glass?

I have a D610 and use it a lot. Great photos. However, that being said, I shoot some low light music venues and my D750 is best is those conditions. I'd say that if you don't do much low light work, the D610 will be fine. Now if you put them side-by-side for close to the same $$, I would get the D750.

Just to sway a little, how does the original Tamron 150-600 compare to the G2?

You could drink a 100 diet sodas, and you will NOT get drunk....so no, it WON'T work!!!

Funny you should say that....I shoot a lot of small venue / club concerts and I have noticed that my shots early in the show (before beers) are not as sharp as the shots later in the show (after a few beers). Now I'm not promoting drinking while shooting by any means, but it seems true sometimes. Also, if you ever go out on an early-before-sunrise morning shoot, don't do the coffee before leaving!

Very well said! There is such a huge amount of great information here, but sometimes one has to wade through the rude and negativity to get to that great information. However, not one to bite his tongue, I will say that I would like to meet some of those that you picture out from behind the safety of the keyboard.....Ah yes, the safety of the keyboard wall.....

This has been a really good thread here and I have learned quite a bit myself. One thing that I will touch on is what KT Johnson wrote concerning your tripod. I received this same lens and was excited about getting moon shots. I have some nice shots that were taken with my 300mm, so I though I could really get some great ones with this new lens. I was rudely surprised. My current tripod has always worked for me with my other gear, but when I mounted this hunk coupled to my D750, everything changed. I found out that my tripod was not so steady with this combo. That might be something to check into. Also, as many have mentioned is shutter speed. You might have to give it some ISO to get the SS were it needs to be. And although my personal experience, and I say this because I think you or someone mentioned the bird shot was taken in 25 degree temps, if you are a coffee drinker you would be surprised how caffine can affect your photography. Not saying everyone suffers from this, but I have noticed it with me. A combo of cold temps, a cup of joe, and the excitement of being out shooting can cause a bit of shake. Maybe invest in a Gimbal head to steady things up.

Guys, I really appreciate the feedback you all have given me here. Lots of great info that will help me out a bunch. I am a little concerned that my current ball heads might not be heavy enough going with the gimbal adapter route. My heads are the medium Vangaurds, so I'm not sure.

Needing suggestions on what kind of mount to use with my Tamron 150-600mm lens. I have a strong enough tripod, but I think my ball head is allowing some micro movement.

I have the first edition of the Nikon 18-300mm DX. It stays on my D7000 most of the time. It's heavy, but it eliminates changing lenses. I've been pleased with it.
