Thank you and I probably will try it. RBW
MyNikon F 100 is in good shape but the soft part of frame and case are very sticky. Soap or alcohol don’t help. I was advised to get talcom powder which will stick on surface and thus relieve the stickyness. Does that seem right? Rich Whiting

Will: I really appreciated you and others to guide me along. It’s a good camera and I still feel “attached” similar to my previous love of
Hi one and all and thanks for your input. I felt like I owed you some feedback. As I described at the start I dropped my D750 and it landed on the rim of the lens producing a local indentation and thus fusing rim of lens to IV filter that was in place. I followed those who suggested repair and it turned out great. I went to my favorite photo shop(Schillers in St Louis)and they were able in reshape the lens and remove the IV filter. Then by force threading a new uv filter the original threads on the lens reopened. The lens and camera appear to work properly and it only cost me the price of a new I’ve filter! Richard B Whiting
Thank you all very much! I intend to try repair and recheck for lens and body. By the way I am shocked to learn the heavy metal lens bent so bad that there is a focal indentation which fused with UV filter can be fixed. Thanks again!!! Rich
Hi one and all! I am torn between two big changes in my camera gear. One choice is expensive: go ahead and buy all new mirrorless camera and lenses. I don’t need to point out how exciting that would be! The second choice is simply to replace my damaged gear. I have favored Nikon for years and have been using a D750. Through my own fault I dropped it and it fell about 3 feet, hitting concrete garage floor, and landing on the leading rim of the lens:AF S Nikki’s 24-120. On the lens was a neutral density filter. The lens leading edge bent so the neutral density lens is locked in place and of course other lense adjustments such as polarizer etc cannot be used. Amazingly no glass was cracked and the camera is fine. Even the lens still zooms in and out, so one could say the set up still takes good shots. So I guess I would love some input. Part of what I would like is straight on comparison of Full frame DSLR vs mirrorless. My own preferences for photos are landscapes, travel photos, macros, and some portraits. Hardly ever do sports or rapid motion shots. Thank you! Rich Whiting
Lens hood is very helpful and actually is one piece of gear relatively inexpensive. I will say that you get to appreciate the hood by using it. Everyone has said they like it’s help in bright sunshine and also the hood guards your lens from some trauma. I will also warn you the lens hood can be tricky in the way it screws on since if it isn’t exactly on threads you can see it fall off. I have seen mine fall 20 feet down into a deep space between rocks as I shot Missouri’s Whitewater races.
Hi. I would like to find a ten stop ND filter to use with my Nikon 750 and a 77 mm lens. I know there are other similar lenses and I may end up with one but this is worth a try to me. Thanks!
