:) Thanks glad its not just me, but perhaps this could be the problem? I am going to keep messing around with the camera and see what I can come up with.

What does the flash do? How would this prevent it from taking a picture on automatic settings? Shouldn't the camera always take the picture on automatic? Or is it really telling me the shot is impossible to capture ISO coming out at 3200 shutter 1/60 and can't remember the apperature it was saying, but It would not take the picture. The green focus light was blinking in the viewfinder (not sure yet what that means)? I am working on reading the manual before I begin to play again...

No I double checked this. I returned the camera last night I hope not to have the same issue with the new camera. Charging battery so we will have to wait and see...

I orginally had it set on manual mode inside and it would not focus properly using the 55-200mm lens. I am guessing this is due to lighting issues. Then to test it out I took it to a bright room during the day also using indoor light set the green automatic setting and tried to take a photo of a random object a chair as I was trying to set it up to take pictures/portraits on the tripod. Using the kit lens 55-85mm lens. The flash does pop up and it appears to be focusing fine the green circle light in the view finder lights up but no picture is taken. I hold the shutter half way down then the rest of the way and no picture. Very disappointing. It does not make shutter release sound.

Why does it seem like the camera has a hard time focusing automatically is this something I should forget about and just use manual focus...I am just not used to this yet.

Hello,
I just bought the Canon T3i and I am having dificulty with it and really wondering if something could be wrong with the camera. I have now on numerous occasions tried shooting random photos and it doesn't take the picture on automatic or manual modes. I am about to have a baby and can't miss that special moment. What should I do? When it does take the picture they are awesome compared to my old point and shoot.

My questions is did anyone else have this issue? I am considering returning it and getting the Sony A33 now because my husband is not happy we have to manual focus for videos as well. Why are they discontinuing the A33? Is the A33 comparable to quality of Canon?

Any thoughts from anyone with either of these cameras will be greatly appreciated.

I have tried this. I was just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with either of these cameras or has tried them side by side?

Thanks

I am new to photography one class under my belt and feel like the point n shoot is no longer acceptable ready to upgrade. I have narrowed it down between the Canon T3i and the Sony A33 or A55. Here is the dilema I really want to take portrait shots indoors as I am expecting a little one in April and its going to be a great time to get some practice (i Hope).

First off why did sony discontinue the A33 now the A35 does not have the flip out LCD screen also not sure it has external flash mount either? These are things I have to find out. I feel like the A55 is a little much with GPS and heard it has overheating issues. But overall the sony has a higher ISO (I will be needing this to shoot indoors correct?) I feel like I am attracted to the speed of the Sony and the high ISO does anyone know if they are noticably different between the Canon and Sony? Do you think there is room to grow in these cameras as I am not trying to become profressional just make it a hobby? I still want some room to grow just don't feel it's necessary to go with the Canon 60D at this point.

Thanks for your help. This is such a hard decision.

What program are you using to make these changes? I really like this I hope I can figure out how to do this. I am new to photography so forgive me but could you explain what functions you use to desaturate? Thanks

Hello,

I recently took a photography class that was way over due. I currently have a sony point and shoot and realize I need something more to get more control of my photos. I enjoy taking pics of children, dogs, landscapes, etc. just as a hobby for now. I am looking to purchase a new camera and I get overwhelmed with all the options. Could someone please suggest a good beginner camera that will give me the control I am looking for. Thanks so much. Look forward to hearing back.
