Everything is being fired manually. It will give you a reading when you go slower. But the thing is at 1/60th of a second you get a flash reading of F22. When you go to 1/90th or 1/125th you get a reading of 1.4. Which makes no sense. I have taken images and they are fine. But from what i am told the meter should give correct readings when doing flash exposures. I know i can adjust the trigger with shutter/F-stop. But then again that was the reason for the meter. And i have taken readings with ttl. And it is the same situation.

That exactly what I am doing. The whole purpose of the triggers is to adjust flash power from the trigger. If that is what I have to do. It kind of defeats the whole purpose. I am surprised at all of these photographers who talk about all the expensive camera equip. That they buy but really have no idea as to how to use it. I know how to use it. I was just curious as to why. If you do not know. Then you should not add your 2 cents. I guess I was wrong to rejoin this site again. As nobody has a clue to anything. I will not ask anymore questions.

I test the flash at 1/60 and fire the flash but when tested at 1/125 it reads f 1.4. And that is set on non cord. I will try my school to see if they can help. I really thank you for your comments.

I will do more testing but that is what the results are. I talk to people in camera stores. But they have no idea. I get kind of confused as to why they are even there when they do not offer much help. Everything they do now is just to look at the back monitor of the camera. I would really like to figure this out as I really like the meter.

I have figured it out. With the meter being made in the days of good old film. We did not really have shutters that would go beyond 1/60 of a second. So I believe that is what the speed has to be. As when you put it into 1/125 it will not take a reading. It is just the way it is. But seeing that it is for doing portraits. It should be just fine. Thanks for the response from all you fine Hedgehogs. Be well.

Is it not funny how the dollar has gotten rid of quality. Why cant they make photo equipment and cars, in the good old U.S.A.

I use godox trigger and receivers. Godox considers nikon speedlights to be third party flash. So the way they are set up. They have to be in ttl. But the trigger can be on manual and you can adjust flash power. Now with the flash being bounced in the umbrella at 1-60 th it shows 22. But I also shoot with the diffuser caps on the flash heads. It just seems strange that at 1-60 it show f22. But on the meter when you change the shutter speed to 1-125 it shows 1.4. But when you do direct flash at the meter. The meter will show different f-stops. Any ideas as to why?

I always shooting film and developing it myself. I purchased a Bronica etrsi and it was a really nice camera. You could even put a metal slide into the back and change up film. I the owned a Pentax 645n. Which also was a great camera. Used mostly for landscapes. I now own a Nikon d750 which is really a nice camera. I left photography for awhile but realized it was deeply rooted within me. So i am now doing a portrait course with N.Y.I.P. And i have a canon pro 10 printer. My main reason for this was where i live no camera store wanted to sell mme their medium format film even though as photographers they were all now shooting with digital. So why they would not sell their film. Have not the slightest idea. So now with the digital camera and printer. I feel like i have some connection to the old days. Which kind of works out i guess. But for all that still shoot film. I honor you.

Once again thanks to all with your input with the flash issue. So, anyway. I used two sb5000's in an umbrella, and i used three sb700's. Now what i got with the two 5000's was f16 at 10 feet. And adding a sb700. It did not really change anything f-stop wise. So i changed up to three sb700's and had according to my meter was f 22.7. Which to me is fine. Just thought someone would like the results. But here is the question. This was all done at iso 400, and 1/60 for a shutter speed. Now at 1/60. I had f22. But when i tested the meter at 1/125, i had a meter reading of 1.4. IO know i can mentally adjust what it would be. But can anyone give an answer as to why it would go from 22 to 1.4. with everything else being equal. Would the meter have to be recalibrated? Any info will help. I hope all had a festive holiday the 25th of Dec. Thanks, Fiddlingbill.

I have never had a problem with Keh. With buying or selling. The last item I bought was a nikon lens at bargain condition. It was a lower cost but was in real good condition. I will buy from them again. Well worth the cost. And great service.

You know many feel that Chinese made items are not of equal quality. And this is where the shame comes in. If things are made to specs. I would not think there would be a problem. If you look at the 85 1.8g is a very sharp aesthetically nice lens. What I would like to see, is more metal being used in current production lenses. I have always believed that is why the lenses from Japan, lasted longer. Specs, are specs. And as long as things are in quality control. There should not be a problem. But there are some on youtube that cause problems.

Here is my question with nikon speedlights. I was give two nikon sb5000s. Now my question is, would a sb910 give the same amount of light spread if using two 5000s and one 910 set at 24mm, in a 65" photo umbrella. With distance being equal. As would there be a difference in light quality. Or would the 910, be the same quality. And with the 910 head being a tad larger. Would it even matter. I would use this setup. Because, of the power being put out to do outdoor location portraits. Any words will be of help. Thanks.

Maybe kiev will make knockoff Nikons that will sell for 1/4 the price as they did with Hasselblads . 1/100 the quality though .

That would not be a bad idea. If they are well made. And durable. I would probably buy one. Although I would buy Taiwan items before I buy China. As I believe it is better made stuff.

You are so right with your words. You know when you travel to new territories with no idea as to where you are going. You will get lost. Sometimes things should be left well enough alone. I do not know what was wrong with a dslr. More people I believe want to shoot with them. As they were better to use. I do not see what the big deal is with mirrorless. You know when you take a picture with a dslr. It becomes a mirrorless. But I guess the proof was in the pudding.
