It's the hood make sure you mount it correctly, I did the same thing with my 7000 a few weeks ago. If you really look at the edges in the view finder you will see vignette. Good thing is just move your focal length to like 19mm and it goes away. To stop the problem make sure the hood lis lined up correctly before twisting it into place

Rent an 800 I did and then cancelled my pre order and decided to wait for the then rumor D600. My 600 came 2 weeks ago and I love it. The 800 had 46 mp raw file sizes it was slowing my 27 inch i7 I Mac with 8 gigs of ram.
I think you would be very happy with the 600
Good luck

When you need bifocals it's hard, I tried multi focal contacts but they just don't seem to work very well. I just make sure mynAF point is where I want it to be.

Use the AF what I have been doing for about 6 months now is I reprogrammed my ae/AF button on the back of my d7000 and now my D600 as the AF button. That way once the focus is established the camera won't attempt to refocus as the shutter is pressed. It takes some getting used to but so far I like shooting that way

Good morning, there is hunts photo in MA, I think they offer free or really cheap classes on the basics look them up on line and they have a calendar of classes. That might be a good place to start. Look for any little local photo shop if you are not near a hunts photo

I signed up with PPA as my kit grew and I was heading to Iceland with a camera bag with like $12,000 worth of gear in it. I haven't really used many of the other options yet.

in the 70's we were cooling off a new ice age was coming, well that didn't happen, so the news created global warming, and some doomsayers ran with it.

The truth is the earth is 4 billion years old it's been hot it's been cold, in the short time we have been using machines, we could not produce enough co2 to really make a difference in the global environment. The Earth is an amazing place that has out lasted the first plants, the dinosaurs and I will out last us.

Itvis good to know Antarctica will still be there for me to photograph

Stepping off the soap box now.

Have a good evening

I took the classes in Syracuse, ny a couple of years ago, there was a lot of information given,it was a great class. The secon day is a lot of flash information, hey showed soe simple 1 and 2 speed light set ups. Overall it was worth the price, also on a $50.00 book in the give away at the end. So go and enjoy
