This set is the last of my early morning venture from the west entrance to Yellowstone along the Madison River.

All of my long lens work (mainly bison and antelope) is trapped on a CFA express card I am attempting to get ProGrade to help me extract. At such time as I have those they will be posted.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

This was an excellent series.

The RAF and other Commonwealth flyers in North Africa did it first and the "Flying Tigers" adapted the shark mouth after seeing a picture of a P-40 with the shark mouth.

One of the more interesting paing jobs of the aircraft in Reno was this warhawk. Specfically the shark teeth. The teeth are often seen on fighters, even today.
I think the yellow number is a decal, as each racer in the event needs a number. There is no 'painted' number on the aircraft - which tells me that this aircraft is more of a show plane than racer. Would not like to see this paint job ruined.
I don't recall seeing it here before. Kudos to the team for showing up at the last event.

I believe the typical paint scheme of the "Flying Tigers" of WWII or pretty close.

Thanks for dropping by.

I have the utmost respect for those crews that manned the bombers....particularly for those in the early going that had no fighter escort on raids deep into Germany. They had to realize and deal with the prospect that they wouldn't make it back to their base.

I've been up in both of these planes. It wasn't long after I was up in the B-17 ( Nine 0 Nine ) that it crashed and was totally destroyed, killing 7 people and wounding 6 others.

Very nice images. I too was up in the " Nine O Nine ". It was a replica of the actual " Nine O Nine " which was in my Dad's Squadron during WWII. He was a B17 Pilot. Thanks for posting.

I pay $50.00 for a synthetic blend oil change in my 2002 Honda Civic at the shop I use & paid $14.00 each to have them replace the windshield wipers. I went to a local Honda dealer to get a new master key because all I got with the car was a valet key. The dealer charged me $212.00. I work at Batteries Plus Bulbs. We sell that same key for $107.00. Most dealers are a rip off.

I went to Auto Zone and bought 2 wipers for $22.00 and they offered to put them on for free. My dealer does my oil changes for $59.00 with a coupon. Synthetic oil and I believe the truck holds 7 quarts.

Hi, just looking around the new format and thought I would post a few from our recent travels. Still wish to catch up with old friends I used to speak to, if they are still here of course. Enjoy. Love the photos I have seen so far.

Beautiful set.
