This is the first time I ever tried post processing a phone photo. It is my great grandson Luca who was six months old a week before I took these shots. I’ve got a lot to learn about taking and processing smartphone photos.

Are these UHS II cards? Why are you replacing them?

An amazing 2 letter English word.

A reminder that one word in the English language that can be a noun, verb, adjective, adverb and preposition.

UP

Read until the end ... you'll laugh.

This two-letter word in English has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP.' It is listed in the dictionary as an [adv.], [prep.], [adj.], [n] or [v].

It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?

At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends, brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and fix UP the old car.

At other times, this little word has real special meaning. People stir UPtrouble, line UPfor tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UPexcuses.

To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special.

And this UP is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP.

We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UPat night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP!

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look UP the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UPalmost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions.

If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more.

When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP. When the sun comes out, we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, the earth soaks it UP. When it does not rain for awhile, things dry UP. One could go on and on, but I'll wrap itUP, for now . . . my time is UP!

Oh . . . one more thing: What is the first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night?

U

P !

Did that one crack you UP?

Don't screw UP. Send this on to everyone you look UP in your address book . . . or not . . . it's UPto you.

And I just thought UP what you forgot to bring UP. Thanks

I have a friend who is petite. She is ready to buy a new camera and associated lenses. She currently owns 12 -15 year old Canon gear which she plans to replace. As a recent volunteer park ranger with her husband for 3 years she enjoys photographing landscapes, birds and wildlife and plant close ups. With a fall trip to Europe planned she feels now is the time to make a new purchase. Again - her interest is in capable equipment that is compact and lighter than the her current Canon equipment and likely to step into mirrorless. Being a regular UHH reader it seems steering her toward Sony or Fuji would best suit her objectives. It is not her intent to buy an all-in-one camera. I would appreciate and specific recommendations for camera and available lenses that would meet her photography objectives. I am a Nikon user and currently size and weight are not of concern to me. I want to give my friend the best advice I can so she makes the best choice for her. Thanks in advance for you guidance!

I like my Canon RP. So if she is interested in full frame I think that would meet her needs.

The Percentage bar as always been showing since I bought the phone but there never was a "number" showing the percentage of charge showing. I had to turn that on manually in settings.

I don’t remember doing that, but I probably did

If anyone is using an Android and has this feature feel free to show how to turn it on.

On your IPhone, Go to the Settings, then scroll down to Battery > then, turn on Battery > Then Make sure Battery Percentage is turned on.

Now when you go back to your screen, you will see what percent your Phone battery is charged.

For some reason I either did that some time ago or it was already set when I bought the phone new.

When the mood moves me I grab 4 or 5 and put them in a case in my car and then play them as I drive. I have one with music from the forties which I keep in my car and will play that for two or three days worth of trips. It has Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Al Jolson, the Inkspots, the Mills Brothers and more. My collection ranges from The Beetles to Beethoven. I may have to get rid of most of them because we are on a waiting list for senior housing which will cut down on storage space.

A hungry male Rose Breasted Grosbeak stayed at the feeder for some time, allowing me to get some photos of him.
I noticed he has been tagged.

I think these are rather attractive birds.

Hope you enjoy seeing these.

Nice set. You are lucky to have him stay around so long.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of vocabulary in the younger generations? They nearly all seem to converse in Valley speak. The word “like” will be used several times in the same sentence and to me it’s just damn annoying.
I think that from now on I’m going to ask them if they mean “similar” every time they say that word. Just to screw with them.

If my memory serves me well, I think they have been using like for at least the last forty years if not longer.

Cute set!

Not only are they cute, but I think they have helped reduce the chipmunks and squirrels My daughter found a squirrel tail Tuesday afternoon that looked like it was all that was left of the foxes’ meal.
