I was working at a house on a lake in Snohomish County WA and got to watch two eagles hunt a duck. The eagles set up a rotation pattern, picked out a duck, and forced it to dive for cover. Eventually they had the timing just right so that when the duck broke the surface there was an eagle right there to force it to dive again. Ultimately the duck drowns and breakfast is served when it floats to the surface.

Ditto to all those KEH recommendations. I have a UG rated lens in the mail as I type. Great to work with.

I've been on the road to failure, Chg Canon, lots of pot holes and a couple of washouts. I turned around and didn't look back. Can't say that I recommend it, but to each there own.

Attach all my el-cheapo action cams to my glider, take off Frailey because it's a cliff launch and easy to get airborne at about 12:30 pm catch a giant thermal and spend my time at cloudbase enjoying the view. Take a point and shoot for those sudden once in a lifetime shots and hope to die in flight.

Rita, I've been using Irfanview for almost 20 years. It's free and easy to use.

Picking up an armadillo is a really bad idea. They are carriers of Hanson's Disease. You might know by its other name. LEPROSY.

As we're killing off the planet its other residents are adapting as best they can. One day I heard our latest batch of keets (young Guinea Fowl) chattering and went to check on them. The cage was in the garage so they would stay warm at night. It looked like someone had thrown a blanket over one end of the cage but as I got within a few steps the "blanket" turned its head and looked right at me. It was a Peregrine Falcon! It flew right past me and landed on my car as though it was going to wait me out to go try for an easy meal again. I ran at it waving my arms and that was enough to drive it off. Wish I'd had a camera handy for that shot.
Amazing photo, but I agree that it sure looks like a Red Tail.

"For me I prefer the non-destructive approaches my Adobe workflow."

What do you mean? There's a missing preposition or something.

Why "For me" do you prefer something else when it's not for you?

A little bit of proof reading goes a long way when you set out to say something.

Where is George Carlin now that we really need him?

Wow! Nice shots. I've only seen them while flying with them. Had one really POed at me while I was trying to get out of the Columbia River gorge and he wanted to land on the telephone pole that was right where the thermals were breaking loose. At least he was nice enough not to attack, but could he screech.

Otterbug, Not trying to be rude but as another poster said. RTFM. RTFM means Read The F****** Manual. The solution is most likely in the Setup Menu. If not then the Playback Menu. Why wait to call Nikon when the answer is right in front of you. Even if you have to stumble through the menus (and you won't if you go to the manual first) you'll learn a whole lot more about your camera doing that than having the answer handed to you on a golden platter.

This is NikonUSA's article on lens identification;

https://www.nikonimgsupport.com/ni/NI_article?articleNo=000001919&lang=en_US

Here's another from Photography Life;

https://photographylife.com/nikon-lens-nomenclature

And Ken Rockwell's Compatibilty for Nikon Lenses. This is extremely important to you because your camera has no autofocus motor so any lens you might buy has to have a motor in the lens.;

Enjoy your camera

Fotohog, I love it. Thanks for the smile.

My wife looked out her bedroom window a couple of weeks ago and swears she saw a drone with the camera looking in. She's not given to hysterical ranting and I believe her. We are two miles from the nearest town and our nearest neighbor is 200 yards away. If there was a Hogger flying it, which I really doubt, this is your only warning. Do that again and I put a bullet through it.

I skipped through the unboxing part in hopes there was some useful info in there somewhere.
For that little trouble I did get one insight. Use the lens hood, with examples of how it improves the image.
When I get the lens I'll buy from KEH most likely. Maybe I could do an unbubblewrapping video. KEH packs their stuff like it's going to make a landing on Mars as Spirit and Opportunity did (and I appreciate their efforts).
