May I don't understand your question: Lightroom comes with flavor ACR built-in, once you tell Lightroom to import it will copy the raw files from your card into a folder on a computer. Now once the files are in your Lightroom you can move to the Develop module and use slides like in ACR.

During Import, I have Lightroom automatically populate Lens Correction's Enable Profile Correction tab. I just got a Tamron 24-70 and for some reason during Import, Enable Profile Correction shows my Tamron as a Sigma 24-70 and I have to go back and correct all my photos to reflect the Tamron 224-70. Any way to correct this

I can highly recommend the Tamron 16-300 and the Tamron 150-600. I rented both of them, as well as all their Canon mount competitors, and then compared pictures side by side, determining that those two had everything I needed for real estate, landscape, nature, and most importantly CIF (Critters In Flight) photography.

Which version of the Tamron 150-600 G1 or G2?

Wait for reviews come out on the 6D MK II, then decide if you want it. My thoughts are since this is a hobby for me and I'm not making money on my photos, , if 6D reviews are good, then take that $1,000 and get another lens.

But, unless your fast glass is the mark II version, on the 5D M IV, aren't you just putting used oil in your Lamborghini?

Thanks for the feedback.

Putting quality glass is always a good choice but this discussion has also been presented with the 5Ds/r with it's extra 20 megapixel image size. In most cases I don't believe you will have to be too concerned. Example, the first version of the 70-200 2.8L will still resolve well on the that body.

I don't think that faster apertures have so much as a bearing either. Canon actually recommended the 16-35 F4L over the 16-35 2.8L II for the5Ds/r.

Thanks for your feedback.

Fast lenses are to give you greater photographic control. Higher quality of lenses are more to increasing resolution and eliminating distortion.

More importantly to ask, do you own or are you willing to buy EF lenses instead of EF-S because EF-S lenses on Canon's will not fit on full-frame cameras like the 5D series.

I knew at some point I would get a full frame Canon Camera so the only lens I purchased were EF lens.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi, I have been things about purchasing the 5D M IV, so I have started review Youtube videos and various reviews on this unit. Based on my research, for now, I have two questions/statements that I would like some feedback on:

1. I read that based on the levels of image improvements, one can get away with not using fast glass,i.e., f/2.8, f/4 will provide one with similar results. Have the improvements in the current crop of cameras reduces the need for a fast lens, e.g., f/1.4, f/1.8, and f/2.8?

2. It appears that in order to take full advantage of the 5D M IV, one would have to replace all their old lens with the Mark II version of the Canon lens. Some of the 5D M IV feature set will not work on non-Mark II lens. Makes me wonder if the 6D M II will have the same requirement?

Anyway, I would welcome any comments or feedback.

P.S. Currently I have 70D.

FIXED IT!!!!! My PS CS6 directory had the file photoshop.exe.manifest in the directory. PS CC did not copy that file into its' directory. Since I had already made that change in my registry, all I had to do was copy the photoshop.exe.manifest file into the PS CC directory. Life is wonderful!!!!!!!

Okay, I found a workaround for my problem, but I'm not happy with it. WhatI'm doing is moving the plugin over to my second monitor so I can see the sliders and menu items. I'm still looking for a fix.

You could try the following:

Open Photoshop > Preferences > Interface and change the UI Font size from small to Medium or even Large. The UI scaling can also be changed, but goes from 100% all the way to 200% (which is probably too much).

Thanks for your advice. I made the changes listed above UI font = large UI scaling = 200% and nothing changed - still tiny fonts in NIK.

Okay, I installed Created Cloud on my system which has two monitors ( my main monitor is a 4K monitor w screen resolution set to 3840 x 2166). Now prior to CC, I was using LR 5 and PS CS6 w/ Nik software on the 4k monitor. The issue: LR CC displays the Nik plugins at the same fonts that LR 5 displayed them at (I'm addressing the menus and sliders), but PS CC for some reason has reduced the fonts down to a size that is un-readable. I have re-installed NIK software same problem LR CC okay and PS CC very small. I have tried reduced the monitor resolution down but hen the fonts in PS CC become too large. When I first got the 4k monitor I had to install Photoshop manifest to allow me to very Photoshop CS6 @ the 3840 x 2166 resolution. This system file was installed by Dell Tech support and it works with both PS CS6 and PS CC.

Help how do I get Nik software to use the same font sizes used in LR CC in PS CC? You know I could see if both new programs were having the same issue, but they are not. In fact, LR CC found the all my plugins and installed during installation. Now I had copy them into PS CC.

Note: I'm also having this same issue with Imagenomic software plugins.

Thanks

I just installed LR cc and PS cc and I have some big problems:

1. My C drive SSD drive with limited space so my old copies of LR & PS was installed on my larger D drive. I was not given an option where to install the CC version so it was installed on my C drive. Not happy! Can I uninstalled CC and force it to install on D drive? if so how?

2. Although LR & PS CC was installed on my C drive all my old LR plugins were transferred over to LR CC. However, none of my PS plugins or actions were moved over to PS CC. How can I get PS CC to load my old plugins?

3. I don't see how to tell these new programs where to setup/use cache file. How do I tell PS cc use drive 'F' for cache?

Thanks
