Excellent capture, and you are right about capturing birds in flight, one of the toughest photographic jobs to do.
I have many blurred, half a trailing leg or wing or talon I have had to delete, so when a great capture comes along, such as this one, you treasure it and it gives you the motivation to get out there and take more birds in flight.
Well done
Really great photos, particularly no. 1, I would tone down the "white eyes" on no. 2, but otherwise really good photos,
I have just returned from Amakhala/Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa and did not see a Leopard, the most difficult of the big 5 to find, so you were a very lucky person.
Nice work and thanks,
Thank you everybody for making the effort to look and your kind comments, much appreciated
The following shots were taken in my hometown of Chalfont St Peter in Buckinghamshire in England.
I used Photmatix software to create the HDR shots, I hope you all like them.
I really love your photos in particular no.1, would be interested in the technical specs, camera, lens, aperture, speed, iso. etc. the reason I say this is I am a birds in flight enthusiast and your first picture is spot on in my opinion. great shots, well done.
Superb photo, I love the composition and the background, brilliant, well done smartet,
Don't know what the fuss is about the watermark, you can see the picture well enough to see it is a great shot, just a bad day for some people maybe.

Very nice set of photos, very picturesque scenes. Good job.
Thank you very much joehel2
Thank you very much everybody for your kind words, glad you enjoyed them.
I took these photos this afternoon as our first snow of 2013 fell in our village of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, England.
We seldom get a lot of snow here in the south of England, so when this snowfall arrived it looks like a winter wonderland.
Just thought I would show our village off.

Village Pond
Goldhill Common
Great shot Bigal, I know how difficult it is to capture birds in flight, we have a multitude of Red Kites in our area here in Buckinghamshire, and I have been unsuccessful so far to capture one as good as your shot.
I have been reasonably successful with other birds of prey, just not this one. Well done

The color of the background is similar to the predominate color in the lion and he does't stand out as in the monochrome where the texture(contrast)
makes him more the focal point. Beautiful shot either way.
Here is the revised photo. OK everybody, have taken your advice about upping the contrast on the coloured Photo, must agree I really like it, definately pops the image more away from the background, thanks for the advice.

Love the color on a safari do you carry a rifle or just a camera....
Thanks for your comments, amazing thing in South Africa at the Amakhala Game Reserve where we were, no guns, and at times we were only a few feet away from Lions, Cheetahs. etc.
OK, add a bit more contrast to the first picture, the colour photo. thanks everybody for taking your time to look.
Just returned from South Africa and going on safari, I took this shot of a Lion and I think its good, or is it? also I cannot make up my mind, Colour or Black & White? also any constructive criticism would be most welcome.
