Hi everyone, I'm an individual that likes to know camera setting people use. If possible when pictures are displayed, could the camera settings and lens used be indicated?

Hi, I'm new to DSLR photography. I've been using my friends Canon xTi for the past several weeks.
He is offering to sell it to me for $500.00.
It comes with the 18mm-55mm lens (not the IS one) and the 55mm-250mm IS telephoto, 2 small compact flash cards, a wireless remote control and UV filter. Oh I forgot also a Lowepro all weather camera bag.
My question is do you guys on Ugly Hedgehog think this is a fair deal, everything seems to be in good condition.

I am a newbie trying to take good pictures. I only own a little point & shoot Canon SD1300 and I borrowed a Canon xTi with the kit lens to get started. Down the road I intend to purchase my own DSLR.
Here are a few pictures that I took over the past couple of weeks. Sorry there are no captions. The one with all the trash is the clean up from hurricane Irene.
