I guess if you want to be an alligator dentist, it is best to use a model. The skin and eye colors of this one are far from those of my neighbors in the lake. ...jean
Wow! Talk about hitting the shutter at just the right time! These pictures are all good, but #2 is truly a winner. You captured a shot like none I have seen before. The picture begs for a caption, but "what was he saying?" I'm also partial to the wren in #8. Those little guys are seldom still. Good work! ....jean
To get a shot of the mom feeding her chick is awesome! I began noticing and then loving loons when we were in Canada on vacation years ago. Of all the loon pictures I have seen, this one has to be the rarest. For several reasons, the loon has great sentimental value for me and if you don't mine, I would like to copy this one for my own enjoyment. ...jean
Good work; beautiful birds.I didn't realize that kites were so colorful. Thanks for posting so many different views.
It says autumn and the subdued colors are so relaxing. It is the kind of image I would never get tired of seeing. I believe it is a favorite of all the posts I have seen. Good job.
Trey, We in the South just can't have too many pictures of swamps. I particularly like #3. All it lacks is my boat near the lily pads and a big bass on my line. On Lake Seminole, we also have a bumper crop of gators. Don't let the "smile" fool you! ...jean
This shot really caught my eye. Where is this lovely "chair?" Did you recognize the type wood used? I build tables from driftwood stumps but have never found a piece that would be suitable for such a seat as this. BTW, I like the photograph as well as the subject. ....jean

Dook, those photos tell a story of salt spray and power. I never tire of seeing the ocean when it seems to be angry. Of course I would not want to be there in my little 15 ft. fishing boat but I enjoyed your shots very much.

Thanks, Sirius, I enjoy the little rascals but have to admit that I threaten them with sweet talk like "raccoon stew" and "a raccoon coat". As long as I speak in a pleasant tone, I can get by with such talk.
Thanks, Marilyn and SeagullSuz for stopping by. These raccoons only get into the food box when I accidentally leave the garage door open. Their noses tell them where food is stored.
Thanks, Texan, I wonder where you are in Georgia. Looks like you may be on Georgia's beautiful coast.
Philo, Many folks think a raccoon washes its food. 'tan't so!
Their "hands" are so sensitive that they can grapple for craw-fish under rocks at the water's edge while appearing to be washing something. I have been feeding them for over 10 years and have never seen them wash anything. They do go to the bird bath for water after supper. Both raccoon and deer swim easily between islands in Lake Seminole.
Ebbotte, That shot caught him in action. I guess their mischief is one of their endearing qualities. Thanks for your comment.
Gene, I do feed them just a little more during this time of year when the females are nursing kits. It is no wonder the little ones behave most of the time. A swat on the nose from a mama coon gets a wayward kit to behave without further ado.
Steve and Rich, thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed seeing one of my newest neighbors. I live on a lake shore next door to a wildlife reservation so I see a lot of critters.
