The thing I see here in regards to your situation is that if you want to post some of your work created using film, you would have to scan it, which converts it to digital.
It looks like you are caught up in the digital world, like it of not.

What does the sign above the opening say? It is to bad that kids have to deface property that is precious to others, and it looks so remote too.
In Photoshop Bridge under File you will find Open in Camera Raw. Is it as good as having the camera take the photo in Raw, that I don't know. I leave that for the techs to say.
Occasionally when I have these dilemmas, I buy both items. Dig into the rainy day fund, and then have a garage sale. However the last time I made a major buy (my canon 30D) I had the garage sale first.
I now see the cabin in the light you had seen it. I bet there were some old nails that would have been a nice souvenir.
The cabin photo, makes me want to see more of the cabin. It appears that the rest of the cabin may be falling apart. Perhaps the roof has collapsed. Hard to tell if it would have added anything artistic to the photo.
There is something going on in this photo that I can't understand what has occurred.
The light is streaming over the trees to some degree, and there are small light circles on the tree trunk.
Does anyone have a explanation for this?
