...or better when in doubt i always turn to my faithful UHH friends to help me decide!!! Do I spring for a new canon 430 ex flash or a vacuum???
I've been struggling with this decision for a bit. The vacuum still has good suction. She just ain't (ut-oh said ain't will my grammar be corrected) as purty as she once was and her body is a little bent; but beauty is only skin deep. On the other hand I am flashless at the moment. So my fellow UHH supporters I leave it up to you!!! You've given me great advice in the past. Can I count on you again???
Have a great weekend!!! Take pics and share them!!!
Go with the Flash...Did You expect me to say otherwise....This,after all, is a photography forum, not Good Housekeeping.
As a chap I cannot even understand why there is even a question. Are you completely unaware that there is only so much dust in the world and once it is settled, if left alone never gets deeper! Ask youself Fran, can a vacuum help you take better pictures? See first sentence.....

If it works don't fix it. I am old, ugly, bent and kept in the closet most of the time but I can out do many guys 1/2 my age. Sooooo I say buy the flash. (it's easy to spend your money for you)
A vacume never turned anyone's head....
But a female flasher ? ? ? hehehehehe

You are all making me laugh so hard!!! Thanks I love that!!! Based on our responses, I'm sensing a pattern. B&h photo here I come!!!
Buy the flash, but turn it off when you take a picture in the house so the dust will not show.
Definately get a new Hoover!
Just Kidding, Buy the new flash.
Don't buy either one. Get the 580ex II. You deserve the best.

Wow! When I saw the title of the forum it about blew me away! I, too, am making the same decision. Unfortunately, the vacuum is this month and the flash is next month. My choice was the Dyson now and the Speedlight next month. Or, the Hoover and the Speedlight now, skip the Dyson.
Oh that kind of vacuum, I thought you meant something cool like a vacuum enlarger easel... my dust distributor is broken, but I am seriously wanting a vacuum enlarger easel my neighbor has...
Take a look at the Nissin 866. Canon gave them the rights to make their speed light work just like the Canon....It even has a fill built in and all the advantages of the Canon. You may save enough to get the vac also...I have been using them for some time and I get paid to shoot.....
