Beautiful photos! So sharp and crisp!

My parents use to live on a small lake, and I loved visiting and watching all the wildlife all around.

To be honest, only the top one really grabs my attention. And then I saw the caption of it "River in northern Michigan."

Northern Michigan is where I live :D. More specifically, Gaylord.

I see nothing wrong with either of your images, although I predicted when I saw the dual portrait that the vignetting would go under assault. My perspective is that rather than darkening the mood, it focuses the eyes on the interaction of the two people. The scenery shot also has some vignetting added, but this is much more subtle. I like the composition and the contrast. You receive high marks from me, even if that means I am excommunicated by others.

You said exactly what I was thinking. I love both pics as they are.

Everyone has such different tastes that one will always get several different viewpoints. Just go with what YOU like, not necessarily what others like.

VERY interesting! I'm partial to the 3rd one, but that's because I'm a musician, too - I play bass. :D

Great job, Frank!

Thanks Norman. You did a great job.
I only have Photoshop 7, so many of these new-fangled, quicker things and/or actions etc., are not available to me.

Very nice! I particularly like the second shot, how the people appear ghost-like under the beautiful starry sky.

Hey everyone here is some things i have been trying lately.

I have been playing with adding textured backgrounds as well as oil painting effects.

That is really cool! Would like to know what program you used for that. Great job!
