I agree. I photographed Bluebonnets near Waco, TX that were almost knee high, never seen them that tall before.

Have you thought about getting insurance on your camera equipment thru your homeowners insurance. Normally it is very cheap and well worth it.

I like that shot, but it is a lot like trying to photograph a raging bull, you need to get out of the way quick.
