Hello to all you seasoned UHH camera buyers,
I would love your opinion on whether you think it is worth the extra $153 for the accidental damage protection (3yrs) and customer care (2yrs). Thanks!

Purchased a 3yr , Mack World Wide, for 5D Mark III purchase. Base it on the replacement value of the equipment. They cover almost every contingency, including liquid. Have separate coverage on Home Owners Policy for all Camera's & Lenses.

Year's ago when the bartender would call, my grandmother would send me down the street to help my grandfather home. This one night when I got there I saw him slip a Pint bottle into his back pants pocket. Just as I was helping him up the front steps he slipped & fell on his butt. He quickly jumped up & felt the back of his pants. He got this awful look on his face, looked up to the heavens and said "Dear God let it be blood".

That one should be on your wall Tom. :) And you are welcome! Was a big smile for me to see a great shot like that. I get some good ones, but still after the perfect one. But I will get it one of these days. I do it with the Moon too.
Erv

Erv, hung a piece of wire where I wanted to shoot the Hummingbird, manually focused the lens on the wire, removed it, went back to my chair & waited with the remote in my hand. Took about 10-12 shoots, that was the best, and that was the one with the 50mm F1.4, and the 430EX II flash. Tried the Canon 70-200,but didn't get anything that sharp. Patience & Luck.

Hi Tom, I kept coming back to look at your second picture. The way the bird was in it was awesome looking. So I did some pixel peeping and was knocked out of my chair. You have a great shot there. I did a crop on it and thought everyone should see how great the shot really is. :)
Erv
Don't forget to look at the big picture!

Erv, thanks for the kind remarks & cropping, could see the flash in the birds eye. Tom

The Canon TC-80N3 has both single & multiple capabilities, it is also a self timer, interval timer, does long exposure and has exposure count settings. The learning curve is pretty quick. Handy manual.

The camera was about 2 feet form the feeder, And I was about
2 feet form the camera sitting at an outdoor table. I was attached to the tether, about 28 inches long. I placed the lens on manual, prefocused just in front of the feeder and sat back and waited with my finger on the remote. I took about 12 shots over a two hour time period. The longer I waited the more comfortable the bird became with the clicking. I didn't give myself much depth of Field, was hoping to get one good shot. Going to set up with ultra wide angle next time.
